1 year anniversary cruise suggestions

Hi Cruise brides  

 

My husband and I are thinking of taking a cruise for our 1 year anniversary. We know nothing about cruises! We like to do a couples type cruise, all inclusive. Any suggestions? Threads I should check out?

I suggest you to have Cruise journey in Caribbean islands or coral islands at Maldives .These are the two places which i went for a Cruise journey for my wedding and Honeymoon trip and i had a wonderful experience which i always cherish.

So, I wasn't exactly a Cruise Bride....but I am going to be an "Carnival Cruise for our 1st Anniversary-Goer"!

 

It's so funny you decided to do this as well -- John and I just decided in the past few weeks that we want to go back to the Caribbean (as we were married in Jamaica) at least one more time before we decide to start a family next year, so we/I did a little research, and the Carnival "Fun Ships" seem to be the best deal for the money!

 

Right now, we are looking at taking a 7 night cruise out of Baltimore, MD on "Carnival Pride" down to Grand Turk/The Bahamas from May 8 - 15, and for a mid-level Balcony Room, we are looking at spending just over $2000 for the week (after taxes and gratuities for the entire week are added in!)  WHAT A DEAL, right?!? 

 

Anyway, I've never been on a cruise before either, but I think we found a great deal and I will be officially booking later this week -- SO EXCITED!!

LOL....... this is so funny! Hubby and I were just talking about taking a vacation, possibly a cruise for our one year anniversary.

 

There are plenty of options depending on where you would like to go. Hubby and I have been on cruises before( only once together) and they're great.  There's always plenty of food and a lot to do on  the ship.  I've been on Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruises.

 

Take into consideration which port you will be leaving from because if it's far from your home you will also have to factor in costs of roundtrip ticket plus cruise. Also, you will be given options of excursions at the locations you stop at so $ adds up that way too.  But overall they're great!

I love love cruises!  I've been on Carnival twice and Royal Caribbean once (for our wedding).  I enjoyed Royal Caribbean the best and felt the activities, ship, and food were a step ahead of Carnival.  I would decide which islands you would like to see and go from there.  For example, our next cruise will be to the Southern Caribbean so we will most likely need to depart from Puerto Rico.  If you want to leave from a certain port that will limit your island options.  Have fun planning!

If you drink alcohol or soda, cruises are not all inclusive....you have to pay for them on board.  I also don't know of any cruises that would be couples only.  If you're looking specifically for all inclusive, couples only, maybe a resort would be a better option for you.  We were married on a cruise, and loved it, but we did spend a few hundred dollars on alcohol in the 8 days we were on the cruise.

I was thinking of doing a cruise for our Anniversary too - those dates would be perfect!!

However having a hard time trying to convince hubby to go as he thinks he would get bored on a cruise.

Never been to the caribbean before and would really like to go, I might be able to convince him but dont know if I can get 7 nights out of him, might be lucky to get 3.

Does anyone maybe suggest a Bahama's carnival cruise

How's newly-married life treating you, sweetie?!?  And your business, Island Princess Designs doing well, I hope?!?   Anyway, back to topic -- anniversary cruises are exciting!!!  And perhaps mention to your DH that even with a 7 night cruise, you pull into various ports and get off the boat to do excursions, shopping, etc., so you're never just 'stuck on a boat' for too long....

 

And bored???  These ships are designed to be floating resorts-of-sorts, so I'm imagine there is something for everyone!

 

Hope he reconsiders!!

What does he want to do that he thinks he won't be able to do on a cruise?  There are activities going on all day, there's bars, the casino, pools, food 24/7.  We were on the Carnival Miracle, and they played mostly hip hop in the club after midnight, but they also did 50's-90's music in there earlier before midnight.  They had shows and karaoke every night, one of the bars had a live band every night (stayed open late....we went there when the club got too crowded).  We both fell in love with cruising, and we're planning on doing the Miracle's Bahama's & Grand Turk itinerary next year (did Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Grand Turk this time).  Find out everything your ship and each port has to offer, and try convincing him after you have all that info...I don't think it will be too hard after that...there's too much to do to get bored!  The Miracle is one of Carnival's smaller ships, and in 8 days we didn't even see the whole thing!

Have done a few boarding pass invite samples for some brides here in Australia but no orders yet

 

I think I am getting closer convincing hubby to go to caribbean. I just have to explain that there will be plenty of ports and plenty to do on board.

I think I found a cruise out of Miami we might do. It goes out to Grand Turk. Nassau, and Half moon cay I think with Carnival.

 

Otherwise might try the 4 night Bahama cruise with RCCL.
