Beaches Turks & Caicos- Wedding Time Suggestions?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!  I have FINALLY made up my mind and will be getting married at Beaches Turks and Caicos in May 2011 (thanks to this wonderful website and forum!).  The only thing I have left to decide before I book our wedding is the wedding time.  I am thinking 11am, so that it's not too hot outside during the ceremony and it would give our guests the rest of the afternoon to do whatever they want.  Does anyone have any suggestions/advice from their wedding experience?  Thanks!

Hi LaurenMarie!  I, too am a May 2011 Beaches Turks & Caicos Bride!  What date did you pick?  We are getting married at 3pm on May 21st - I had concerns too about the heat, so we will probably get married in a gazebo where there is some tree coverage for our guests.

You will get a lot of GREAT feedback from some of the brides who have been there.  They are super with filling you in on details for anything you need to know.

Hi!  We were married May 7th, @ 3pm on the beach.  It was perfect, with an ocean breeze.  The websites I have been on showed weather in May is a pretty consistent temperature in the mid 80's and did stay true to that during our trip.  We gave out palm tree fans for each guest before the ceremony.   I don't think you could pick a bad time, it all depends on your taste and reception needs.  We had a private reception, poolside french village after and when that ended, we moved the party to another bar on the resort :)  It was an amazing day :)

Thanks ladies!  We're getting married on May 16th, and we chose (today!) to go with 11am for the wedding time; that way we can all go to lunch at a restaurant afterwards then everyone can have the rest of the afternoon to do whatever they want (it's going to be a fairly small ceremony).

I was worried about the time of day and having the ceremony outside b/c I was afraid it would be too hot, but I have lived in Florida my whole life and we've had a high temperature of about 100 degrees here the past month!  So I think we will be fine no matter what time of day it is, as long as it's not 100 degrees and humid ...  msnwink.gif

Congratulations and welcome to the forum.  I am also getting married at Beaches Turks & Caicos - April 14, 2011.  My ceremony is 4:00 PM.  We are having a very small wedding, so after the ceremony we are going to have our pictures taken then when we return, we'll have dinner.  I scheduled a 4PM wedding because I really want to have some sunset pictures taken.  Happy planning!

Hi LaurenMarie!! Congrats on picking your date/time!! I'm also a May Beaches T&C bride!! We are getting married at 11am on 5/5/2011. At first I wasn't thrilled with the time, as I really wanted 4pm, but 11 was the only available time remaining when we booked. The more I think about it, the better it might work out (fingers crossed). Hopefully it won't be too hot, and we do have guests with young children, and they aren't the type that would use the babysitting services at the resort, so I'm sure they won't be staying out too late.

The only thing I'm trying to figure out is the photography. With the sun so high I'm told (by the photographer) that we may be squinting in the pics and we should do pics later in the day if possible. I just think I'll be hot and sweaty by just hanging out for so many hours before going off site to take pics.......
