Getting Maui'ed!

Basher

Recommended Posts

Hi! We are Kyle and Sheree and we are getting Maui'ed May 7, 2011. Basher is our last names together :)

We thought we found the place- Sheraton in Kaanapali but found their wedding planner, Michelle to be very unresponsive during key stages of planning. To any new brides- she does not get back to you for 2 days to up to a weeks time (via email or phone)!

Also, we did speak with Vickie from Dolphin Dream Weddings and she has been very responsive and knowledgeable!

If anyone has any tips or suggestions for a ceremony and reception/dinner venue in West Maui we appreciate it! We anticipate around 25 guests and are planning to do the luau for our rehearsal dinner.

Turns out there was a confusion with the communication (with a little bridezilla worked in) at the Sheraton and we are working with them again for the reception. They have been great in dealing with us since we've started talking again... plus the room is beautiful!

We also ended up booking a beach ceremony in Kapalua with Dolphin Dream Weddings.

We are really excited!

I would suggest Plantation House (in Kapalua) for your reception dinner. We had ours there and the food, as well as service, was top notch. The manager even presented us with complimentary champagne and a card signed by his staff. There are some secluded tables with an ocean view where you can watch the sunset. We hope to return for our 1st anniversary!

Hi!
Congratulations!

We are getting married August 1st at the Grand Wailea (in West Maui)  and are planning on attending a Luau after the ceremony.

The Luau is by Capricorn Entertainment but unfortunately they cannot guarantee that the Luau will take place untill  a month in advance.

Hope all goes well with the planining!

Hi!!!!!

After months of searching we have finally decided to do our ceremony at Marriott Wailea and our reception at MALA Wailea.  Unfortunately, the Marriott only lets you book 6 months in advance so I wont be able to "officially" book it until July.  I hate when venues do that.  Has anyone actually been in Wailea?  I've stayed in Ka'anapali twice but have never actually made it to Wailea.  Is it just as nice? similar or different?  Thanks and happy planning to you all!
