Hello Everyone,

I am planning to get married at Moon Palace in early 2011. We haven't officially picked a date yet, but am very excited to get things started. Does anyone knw the better route to take as far as booking. Would it be better to book through a travel agent, through the hotel or on our own. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. Thanks and good luck to all 2011 brides.

I'm not a Moon Palace bride, but since there aren't many (or any) Sun Palace brides I've been using the Moon Palace threads for help with my wedding. Many brides swear by their TA's, so that might be the way to go. I plan on just utilizing the help the resort will provide. The better TA's take a lot of stress away.

Hi Ladies. I'm also a 2011 bride. We're confirmed for February 19,2011. I haven't done a whole lot but reserve a date so far. I did email a TA and waiting to hear back on rates, so not sure if I'll go through them or directly through MP yet.

So far we plan to do the complimentary package and adding on as we see fit. It may change as we go along though. Glad to see other 2011 Moon Palace brides on here!

Hey ladies! I'm a 2011 bride - hopefully at MP :) I fell in love with the resort online and the wedding packages seem so affordable for what's offered. FH isn't quite convinced yet because he thinks I'm jumping at the first resort I found, but I've been researching pre-engagement :)

Southern Sweetie - did you book flights & rooms yet for your wedding? I didn't want to book our wedding yet because we can't find any flight info for next year. Plus, I'm really nervous about room costs for our guests. We plan on inviting about 60 people down there with just immediate family and close friends.

I just also want to make sure that they will still be offering the group benefits for a big group - I saw right now that the bride and groom will get a free 7 night stay and unlimited private functions with booking 25 rooms.

Looking forward to talking with you all :)

My TA says that the room rates won't be available until about a year in advance. For my group, that's this summer. My TA, however, is allowing our guest to send in deposits of $150 each plus anything else that they wish to contribute towards their trips since most of our guests will be putting their vacations in "layaway." We are expecting a large group, mainly because the guests were excited about being able to make payments at their convenience. With this economy, this option turned out to be very practical. We "guestimated" that if a person who got paid bi-weekly save $32 per paycheck, they would be able to pay for their entire trip including airfare with minimal pain in the pocketbook. :)

My FI works for Continental Airlines. He says that flight schedules are not out until 9 months in advance and flights are not booked until the schedules are released. Spring is typically when airlines start their summer price wars, so this actually works for our group.
