Any Cayman Island brides out there?

I haven't found a lot of Cayman Island brides on this forum (I know there are some). I'm getting married at the Reef Resort on May 8, 2010. Any other Cayman Island brides around?

I am a Cayman bride. Getting married at the Grand Old House off the Carnival Destiny April 27th 2010.

There is saddly not too much info on here specific for the Caymans...but I am so excited to be a little "different" than the others

Oh the Grand Old House is beautiful! I was debating between that & the Reef, but FI made sense in saying that we should have it where we were staying.

I'm getting married in the Cayman Islands in November..11/14/09 at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Seven Mile Beach. We are expecting about 50 people to attend.

 

We are trying to decide on a rehearsal dinner location and are looking at the Grand Old House and the Wharf. Has anyone been there? How is the food? view? ambience?

 

Any ideas for welcome bags? Using any local things as gifts?

I'm a Cayman bride. Getting married at Grand Old House 11.10.09. We looked at the Reef as well and it was a really tough decision. We decided on GOH because we thought most of our guests would want to stary on 7 mile. Turns out we have a 50/50 split between 7 mile and East end. I think the Reef will be wonderful.

I'm not a Cayman bride either, but I did stay at the Ritz there for a week and it's a beautiful island! We learned about some great local bars from the hotel staff and explored the whole island while we were there (it's not very big!)

 

A good idea for OOT bags would be Tortuga rum cakes....they make them on the island and they're to die for! You can get them at almost any store on the island or oder them online.

Im getting Married on Grand Cayman on April 17, 2010! I can't wait!

 

For rehearsal dinner locations, The Wharf is very nice, they feed the fish at night and it makes for a great event!

 

I'm getting married at the Caribbean Club/Luca Restaurant!!!

I got married in the Cayman Islands on November 14, 2009 at the Rtiz Carlton hotel. We had about 95 guests....We originally expected about 50. Our rehearsal dinner was held at the Wharf...it has a spectacular view and really good food and drinks.We did welcome bags and contacted the Tortuga rum company directly to order rum cakes and pepper jelly and some crackers as treats to stuff our Welcome bags. We found the prices to be less expensive ordering directly through the company than ordering through a vendor or from the store. Depending on your budget, there are some really cute blown glass objects like little turtles, stingrays that might be cute Welcome bag ideas and also a wedding favor.

Thanks for the tip about the rum cakes! That was something I was thinking about giving as a favor. I also looked on Amazon & they have the Tortuga Rum Cakes on there.

 

I'm so excited to see more people going to the Caymans to get married!
