I'm not doing a program - the reason why? We have a small group (20 people) and I would rather do something nicer for them to keep forever rather than a piece of paper. But really, it's your choice and your wedding.

Thank you for adding the poll. How exactly do I do that?

I don't think they are an absolute must, but I ended up doing them beause we are only having a small group of guests so it woulnd't be a huge expense, plus i know my mom, dad and fi's parents would love to keep them .

I did simple brochure style ones from vistaprint. I'll attach a picture. We did really casual, low cost ones because apart from our parents, we assume everyone else will probably throw them out. I know I have from weddings I've been to!

Thank you for sharing your brochure. It looks wonderful. I may try to borrow the idea.

I definately don't think programs are necessary. If you're feeling like you don't really want them then I wouldn't do it. Personally, for a program on a wedding day - I normally use them to figure out how much longer until the ceremony is finally over lol (I know, that's horrible to say!!)

Having said that I will be making them for my wedding. lol. I would like to introduce everyone, and create a sense of organization (I'm a freak about that stuff!). I'll putting them on fans, so they'll have a multi-purpose. That's my plan for now... who knows, maybe I'll get papered out like Tammy did though.

I voted NO - they are not necessary. I originally thought I would do programs, but like Tammy, I was just totally over DIY projects. We had a small group, and plenty of pre-wedding activities for every body to get aquainted. They are a nice touch if you have the energy, but nobody will miss them - promise!

I would say that they aren't necessary, for the most part. But the benefit of having them is that it allows guests to follow along more easily and to know who is in the bridal party and what their relationship is.

Frank and I both have a tendency toward exclusivity with our friends--- meaning, we don't have a large group of friends who all mix together. We have multiple groups of 1-3 people who know each other. So for us to put them all together without having that social background together, we thought the programs would help smooth things over more for everyone...
