Jamaica Photographers?

Recommended Posts

Hi - I am getting married at Beaches Boscobel in January, and was wondering if anyone could recommend a photographer to come in for the day. We were going to go with one of the Beaches photographers, but I don't know about that. The other issue is getting an outside vendor in there...I am pretty sure you have to pay for them to stay....but has anyone had any luck getting someone in just on a day pass?

Thanks!

There are lots of photographers in the area, use the search option to find the posts. But, I think Beaches charges a hefty fee for an outside photographer. Maybe they could sneak in as a guest on a day pass...I am using Brian Nejedly. briandesign.com You can google his website. And, after my wedding I can let you know how it went. His prices are reasonable. Seems like $2500 give or take a little gets you about 5 hours, dvds with all printable prints, and an album. You can try Stacy Clarke, I liked her website but didn't hear back from her before I booked Brian. Good luck.

Hi! Ok, so I already said this in a different thread about Sandals photography, but I thought I'd reiterate it here for you!

Here's my suggestion:

I am also getting married at a Sandals/Beaches owned property, and for these very reasons (SUPER HIGH prices, low photo quality, poor customer service regarding photography, etc.), my fiance and I have booked a photographer off the resort to do the bulk of our photos. We will just be purchasing the (6) 8 x 10 photos for $150 and the $500 DVD from Sandals of the ceremony itself, and that's it for our photo budget going to Sandals.

I couldn't see spending thousands of dollars for sub-par photography when a professional off-resort photographer was an affordable alternative. Brian Nejedly is an American Photographer that lives in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and he's agreed to have his associate do a 3-hour combination portrait/TTD photo session for us for only a little over $1000! I am pretty sure we are going to end up with at least 100 digital negatives, so we feel like we got the deal of the century....and will end up with photos we can be proud of and enjoy for years to come!

Hope that helps, since now I think you CAN bring in a photographer (the rules just changed recently), but they have to be staying there as a guest for a certain number of nights. Maybe check out Brian and see if he's still available? He's FANTASTIC to deal with and his work is pretty darn great for the price, too! Here's the link to his site, if you're interested:

I just got married at ROR 2 weeks ago and I would like to highly recommend photography by Diana Campbell with Digital Memories for anyone getting married in Jamaica that needs a reliable photographer. My pictures were phenomenal and exceeded my expectations. Diana is so professional and so personable, that you will rest assured that she has your best interest and will go above and beyond to make sure your pictures come out beautifully on your special day. The photos were edited and I received my pictures within days and the video was wonderful. I am very particular about my pictures, and really wanted photos with great quality and a variety of shots and this is exactly the service that I received and more. Please let me know if you need more information

Thanks for the feedback! I am already checking into some of these. Does anyone know what the fees are, or how many days a photographer has to stay? Or were those of you who were doing this going off site? I do agree that the cost for Sandals for photography is totally out of this world....not sure if I have seen any of the photos or not. But I hate to only rely on guests, and a sub-par photographer!

Hi,

We are following islandbrides317 idea, (thanks islandbride317) we will purchase some pictures from Sandals but the majority of our pictures & our TTD session will be from our outside photographer. We are using Frank Panaro out of Miami, Frank has done several weddings in Jamaica and knows his way around the island. Another bride on the forum has used him which is why i researched him.

Check out his website Miami Wedding Photographers – Frank Panaro Photography and Video

We are on a tight budget but his prices are good and he provides you with references and external links to additional pictures. I hope this helps some.

I'm going to start a new thread for this site I found, but I figured I'd post it here too in case you were interested in looking into it. It's a site with some Jamaican photographers. Some have pictures on the website, but for most of them you can just copy and paste the name into google and most of the photogs have their own website you can see more pics.
