Interesting "Internet Bride Friends" Article

Just seeing other people struggling with the same issues or celebrating the same successes on the wedding planning front makes me feel so much more connected to the whole process.

Sometimes people get sick of hearing about our weddings, even though (besides the FI) they are the most important thing in our lives right now. Here is a place that no matter how trivial the triumph-anything as simple as picking a pair of earrings to something as important as the perfect dress-other girls not only understand but are genuinely interested and care.

I think I've enjoyed my planning more because of the forum. And I thank Tammy and our moderators for providing such a wonderful environment for all of us!

Ohhh...I have a nickname. What about "besties"?? Because really that's what we are through the whole wedding process (& sometimes after! ) And it's a from best destination wedding. I don't know...maybe we need becks or amy to chime in! They are way better at this than I am! lol

Or..."besty desties" (Hmmm...sounds too much like testes!) lol

I think the reason we all bond on here so much is not only are brides in a different mind-set than the rest of the population, but destination brides are kind of the "outcasts" of the bridal world. We get criticized for making guests spend too much money, being selfish, etc. So not only do the BDW members help with wedding planning, but they get why we want to get married away somewhere. My best friend got married two months after me and we barely talked about our weddings to each other because we just couldn't relate to each other. Thank goodness for BDWers!
