For those of you who have pave diamond wedding bands...

Recommended Posts

Mods I apologize if there is already a thread on this...I did a search and found other threads on pave but nothing specifically about this. If I'm wrong, go ahead and delete this one!

My question is - for those of you who have pave diamond wedding bands, do your diamonds go all the way around, or do they stop half way?

Follow up questions:

If they go half way - do you find that your band spins and that sometimes you see the non-diamond part?

If they go all the way around - do they bother your palm or get dirty and gross?

Thanks for your input ladies....

I wanted to get diamonds all the way around but our jeweler actually encouraged us to go with the half diamonds as he told us that one you get an eternity band you can't have it re-sized (or maybe it was that you could, but that it would be super expensive to do). He said that he finds quite a few people do need to get their rings over the years and it can be a hassle.

Now to answer your question, it does sometimes spin so that you can only see partial diamonds but not enough to be a big deal. I was also told that if you get it fused to the engagement ring that it won't happen.

Hope this helps.

I have pave on my e-ring and wedding band only half way around. I have worn them together. They do spin a little, but it really depends on your fingers. I mean if you have bigger knuckles your ring is a bit bigger to go over you knuckles and smaller once past the knuckle and would probably spin more. Mine actually spins less w/ the band on, but I plan to have them soldered and I've been told they probably won't spin much at all once i do that

My e-ring has pave that go only 1/2 of the way around. I specifically didn't want them to be an eternity style, because I have an eternity style right-hand ring, and I feel like it does get more dirty than my e-ring. I also check it more often for missing stones since I seem to bang it on more things on the palm side of my hand it seems. My e-ring does not spin, but I think that's because it's so wide.

Ryan's girl's jeweler is correct. You can't size eternity bands without basically remaking the ring (expensive I'd bet!).

Heather - i have micro-pave on my e-ring and wedding band and both go all the way around. As for sizing - my jeweler made them both custom and put sizing beads inside on the lower shank - if you look at my wedding pics i think you can see pics of this. it is brilliant b/c you can shave the sizing beads down or put them back as needed (of course by a jeweler).

as for the look (and this is just my opinion!) but i don't like the look of the halfway - i really like the brilliance of the diamonds from every single angle and never have to worry about that spin thing - i have a lot of friends who half the 1/2 or 3/4 and they always complain about the spin.

i am pretty rough on my hands and rings and wear them both everyday - i haven't damaged them yet. i clean them about 1x a week.

My e-ring has like a 1/4 inch space on the underside, specifically so that there aren't diamonds getting banged up with every day wear. The other 3/4 of the ring has diamonds all the way around. I like it like this, it doesn't seem to be able to slide enough to ever show that tiny spot underneath with no bling. lol I think it would bug me to have the lumps right there on on the palm.
