St Thomas bride update....ROLL CALL

I think that stating something that is honestly negative, is refreshing (sorry I'm tired so my wording for that sentence is all wrong). I don't feel like your comment was overly negative. Like I said I never had any problems on this site, but on another site I was jumped on for stating my honest opinion. Now clearly I think Janelle is the best wc I've ever dealt with. She has been awesome with answering my 10 million questions and she's even researched new reception site venues bc of what I envisioned. I think she's the best. But in the event that I didn't feel this way I think it'd only be fair for me to be able to express my concerns here...

PS I promise promise promise that I will not be stressed on my wedding day. That's why I plan to get all of my stressing done before the cruise bc once my butt hits the port in FLL (and embarkation is over lol) I plan to be the picture of laid-back-ness lol...

OK new subject...

Is/Has anyone having/had their reception at the Grille Room on the Mahogany Run Golf Course? It seems beautiful, I just wanted an idea of how the food tastes. And is there anything you'd recommend?

deb, i'm sorry to hear about all the little things that happened on your wedding day. i'm glad you did not let it ruin your day by keeping a positive attitude! i have to say i do love the picture in your signature file. i think you and your hubby look beautiful! there is something about the wind in your hair that adds an extra something to it..

my photo is one that a friend took when we got back to the marriott. we did not get our proofs yet from blue glass either.. and you know what? i did not even confirm with them how long it would take. =/

i'm so glad lindquist was so beautiful for you! we ended up changing the location the ceremony last minute (to magens bay).

my wedding day was not as smooth as i had hoped either!!

on the actual wedding day... the limo driver was late. he was waiting at the main hotel lobby and not at the morningstar lobby (two different areas). STT brides, triple check with your coordinator to make sure they know where to pick you up!! :)

then as we were driving to the location, it started raining! and it didn't stop. we showed up at the location and we tried to wait it out. after awhile, it didn't seem like it was going to stop, so when it was mildly sprinkling, we went for it!

then as the ceremony progressed, the drops just came down harder and faster. i couldn't concentrate on my own ceremony because all i could do was watch my guests' clothes change colors as they all got wet!!! it made me laugh at the silliness of it all.. having our ceremony in the pouring rain. :) like, who does that?!?

luckily, we all kept an upbeat attitude. the guests laughed it off and were great about it. the best man held a huge umbrella (courtesy of the limo driver) over our heads during the ceremony.

moral of all this? despite everything we try to control, we cannot control mother nature. :) rainy weather is possible but all we can do is make the best of it! i'll never forget my wedding ceremony, that is for sure! :)

for all STT brides... if you think there may be a chance of rain on your day, ask your WC if they can bring along umbrellas for the guests to use. i wish i had done that.

a couple other comments/reviews:

all the vendors leslie worked with were wonderful and friendly. the videographer was great, as was alain from blue glass. the limo driver was extremely courteous. we were definitely behind schedule due to the rain delay.. but nobody rushed us!

for brides marrying at or planning to marry at the marriott frenchman's reef... there are a lot of beautiful locations to take photos! we did a lot of photos here after the ceremony because the sun came out.

Awww...I hate that you and your guests got rained on. When we pulled into port that morning it was raining and I started out stressing over that. I mean...from what I've read, it hardly EVER rains on STT. If it does, it normally lasts just a little while and clears up. Oh, well, glad you guys did okay despite the weather. I know it wasn't what you'd dreamed, but glad you made the best of it. Some of those canopies the coordinators offered were starting to look really good to us as we squinted during the whole ceremony. I never thought about that because everyone's pix don't come out that way. I think due to the storms we had strong wind. Some of the pictures look okay, but I (and my hubby) were pulling hair out of my mouth nearly the whole ceremony. hahaha

Hmm. I'm only getting some of the updates so didn't realize so much activity since I was last on here!

I'm glad those already married girls made the best of their situation! I too had some "opportunities" with the Marriott... I think the biggest piece of advice for all brides (not just STT brides!) is to really try to have a positive attitude about everything and remember the purpose of the day. Oh, and a few sips of champagne before the ceremony is also quite helpful! (I know people have mixed opinions on this..not suggesting you go down the "aisle' intoxicated, but I enjoyed toasting with my girls beforehand!!_

We have at least 42 ppl going with us so there's alot to organize... Also I was upset bc she is doing 2 weddings on my wedding day. I made some comments on cc and it didn't go over too well so I'm basically just shutting up and hoping for the best... And when i doubt I handle it myself. I also had her draw me up a contract. She said she's only done them like 3x in all her years of planning, but... I just like to have all my duck in order... I'm sure my wedding will go off w/o a hitch... and if not I'll just get drunk hahha.
Hi there Prettyhazardous,
I am sure your wedding will go off without a hitch! I just wanted to let you know that all wedding companies can possibly have more than one wedding a day. This truly is not a problem. Any wedding company simply has to plan their day out accordingly! Also, many companies have several coordinators as well as Minister's, photographers, etc. Not to worry! Sit back and enjoy!
