Pool Side Weddings?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was just wonderring if anyone has ever had or heard of having there wedding ceremony poolside as opposed to on the beach which we definitly do not want or at the gazebo which is what we would do if not poolside. We are torn between Dreams and Riu resort and if one of them offers a pool side ceremony it would make the decision process easier.

Also, I have heard many good things about both Dreams and the Riu resorts, If anyone has any reason why they picked one over the other I would love to hear from you.

Thanks so much,

Jackie

at dreams, they have a really private terrace next to the oceana pool that would be a beautiful spot for a wedding BUT they also have a fabulous gazebo so that is more commonly used...have beautiful view of the water but no sandy feet...i posted a million pics so look around, i am sure you will find them (in cabo accomodations section "dreams wedding pics" and "tammys dreams pics")

Yes Ive seen some of the pictures that you have put up of both Dreams and the Riu. They are both so gorgeous. Maybe I'll go back and look at them and see if I can spot any places for a poolside wedding. The Gazebos are also beautiful and if all else fails we wont have much of a problem using one of them. But for some reason I have this picture in my head of a wedding poolside at dusk.

Thanks so much for all your great replies to all my silly questions.

Maybe with lots of little luminarias (sp?) all around for lighting. I love the idea of a poolside wedding!

Why I picked Dreams over Riu: We were torn between these two AI resorts, but were leaning towards Dreams when we went for our site visit. We stayed and the Riu and LOVED it. We had tons of fun. However, this is a PARTY resort. Lots of loud musicrockon.gif , lots of activities, lots of drinking, etc.shots.gif Not that this is a bad thing if that's what you're in to- again, we had a blast while we were there last month. But, we loved the smaller, more laid-back atmosphere of Dreams when we went for a visit. Because it is a smaller property, there were just less people in general (read:less gawkers for our wedding!) and it just felt more intimate for our families. I think it just depends on what you want.

I've been to both places, so if you have any other questions, just ask!

there is the smaller, less crowded pool (oceana terrace)...i used it for my welcome dinner...it was empty...
