That is an awesome idea to give the koozies and reminder card at the engagement party.

Has anyone had the issue of guests not booking with the agent you decided to go with because they want to wait and see if they can get a better price? How have you dealt with it? or do you just leave it alone?
I've definitely had this issue! I gave all my TA's info to everyone, but also let most of my guests explore pricing on their own (but have been telling them to make sure its the right RIU). When they find better deals they email them to the TA and explain that they want to book with her, but they found a cheaper price. (usually they copy and paste a screen-shot or send a link)

She's been able to match some of the deals, but some she cannot, so people book on their own and just tell me they're coming. I'm OK with that (of course I want them to get the best deal) but I told them to make sure to confirm with the hotel that their rooms have been booked, etc, because I've heard horror stories about people getting great deals online, and then not having the same (or any) reservations when the day comes. I was very specific about risks of booking on their own, but if they were comfortable then I let it be!

Thanks for all the input girls! I love the first one, but haven't been able to find it anywhere. I had to order it into a store on some kind of loner program and it came in today! I can't wait to see it, but I'm waiting till Friday when my maid of honor comes in from Texas. The second one looked really boring to me until I put it on and now I can't stop thinking about it, so I'll have to see what I think when I can try them both on within a few minutes of each other.

Kimmy - all the good things I heard about peridress were from this forum, so you may be able to ask some brides who actually ordered from there how their dresses came out and if they went the custon route. Try this thread - http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t36700 . Looking back through it, it looks like people also really liked zero-love and landy bridal which seem to be the same company. Good luck girl! I'd be interested to know how it turns out for you. I got a super cheap ttd on ebay, but I might consider having a replica made of my actual dress if it works out super well.

jetsbride - we sent out save the dates right away when we picked a location. Right now the plan is to send formal invites about 2 months before our wedding, but only to people who we know are coming. I've got some pretty elaborate plans for them which include invitations and rsvp to all the wedding events and group activities and I think it would blow our budget out of the water to have them made for all 200 people we sent std's to. A separate invitation for our ahr will go out to everyone which we'll probobly send 2 month before the arh.

Good news...I think I FINALLY I have my room booked! However, still no rates yet...so I have a room, but have no idea how much I'm paying for it, lol! And also have no idea what my guests will be paying. But at least I got to go through the entire wedding confirmation process!

Very helpful, thanks shelk. I was thinking about msbettyb too. I hope everything went well on her trip!

I'm in the same situation as you are Katie. We've had a reservation for over a month now ( mainly just to secure our wedding date and time ) and we have no idea how much it will cost. Our TA told me last week that the rates will be out in 2 weeks, so I guess I only have 1 week left to wait. My main concern is what to tell our guests. Everyone keeps asking my how much its going to be and it kind of sucks to tell them I don't know. I do keep looking at rates for december, just to give me some idea, and they seem pretty reasonable. Let's hope they stay that way!

Definitely good to hear I'm not the only one! My TA told me hopefully next week...my guests have been asking me the same thing and I feel bad telling them I have no idea! I just can't wait until they're finally out, so I can send out my STD's and everyone can start planning their trip!

We sent our STD's as soon as we decided on the RPRM just to give everyone as much time possible to plan and save if they wanted to come. I'd say you could send them now if you wanted. I don't think people would start booking as soon as they got them anyway. Most of the people coming with us will prob wait till 6 months before the wedding to book.

Josie - I have told all my guests the same so I guess I just let it be and hopefully everything will go smoothly.

For those ladies who are getting legally married before going to the RIU, how far in advance are you having the ceremony? What are you going to wear? What about the guests, I don't want to make it a big deal but will people be offended if they were not invited to the actual ceremony?

Is everyne planning a AHR? if you are, how long after the actual wedding until you have the AHR?

sorry, I've got lots of questions...
