Moon Dance Cliffs

Recommended Posts

I will check with him and see if he doesn't mind me sharing his information. Randy shouldn't know anything because I didn't mention any name or exact dates I just stated that I am in contact with several brides who are planning ther weddings there and told her about this website. But they just need to get there acts together or better explaine things if they do have it under control. Mariam seemed very understanding and even stated we as brides have enough stress so I will keep you guys posted and check on that information.

Thank you so much for the information!

The only reason I'm sticking through this is because I honestly think everything will work out. I think the wedding and everything will be gorgeous. It's just getting a response is difficult and getting a straight forward answer can be even more difficult.

Good luck to everyone and we all just need to relax! Easier said then done right?

Thank you big3n09 - I was just teasing about the Randy email wink.gif

I think things will be fine as well! :) Kerry wrote me back today - nothing all that informative, but she was reassuring (I am literally 3 days out from my 90 days right to cancel the villas, so I was getting a bit nervous!).

Everything will be just fine - Kerry was even okay with me continuing to talk to the florist. She didn't mention anything about the DJ, so I'm not sure about what's happening on that front, but her tone was much different - very much so willing to please than matter-of-fact, which was really nice to hear!

More good news! I emailed the Bride from this month's wedding from her message on trip advisor and here is her response:

Hi! Feel free to ask me anything...I know how it is not knowing what to expect. Plus I don't know what to do with myself now that I don't have any wedding stuff to do! :) When are you getting married there? Well to start off, the service there is superb and Linus and Kerry made sure that everything ran smoothly for my wedding. If I could do it all over again, I would not have a wedding anywhere else but MoonDance Cliffs! It was like we had the entire resort to ourselves for the wedding and everything. We were there from the 2/5-2/12 and then we went to Rose Hall Montego Bay from 12th-15th. Now back to MoonDance, I think it's the perfect place for weddings and if you want complete relaxation, but if you need to be close to the beach and like to party...it's not the place to be. Just make sure you get all of your pricing for the wedding and everything up-front. We met with Linus and Kerry 4 times before our wedding on the 7th and they want to make sure they meet your every need. They had the wrong color (baby blue instead of Tiffany blue) tiebacks for my chairs on the wedding day and when I looked out and saw it, then informed Linus...they went out and found the right ones and corrected it immediately! It was real windy on my wedding day so the candles kept blowing out and I was unable to have my rose petal walkway. Linus and Kerry couldn't put out the cakes until the last minute, but that was minor stuff that they didn't have any control over. I had a live band (FrontPage) and they were great...my guests (28 people) really enjoyed them too. I used Stacey Clarke for photography and Floralfantasy for my flowers. Stacey is the best...and the pictures should be ready in about 4 weeks.

We stayed in the Crystal Dawn Villa and my guests stayed in the suites and hotel. Everything was complete, but our jacuzzi didn't work...although when we wanted to use the jacuzzi they let us use one in one of the hotel rooms, so that wasn't an issue. There are some cosmetic things in the rooms and around the property that need to be worked on, but that's expected with a new resort. I think they were rushing to meet deadlines, but depending on when your wedding is scheduled it should be complete. The food is a little price, but very good. For the reception, it included a cocktail hour with 5 horderves, 1 soup, 2 salads, 3 entrees, 3 sides, 2 desserts, and open bar. In the end I think it was well worth it...especially with the open bar! lol I can't think of anything else right now, but feel free to ask me anything else that I may have missed.

Don't worry...your wedding will be beautiful, I was more than happy with mine!! And remember I'm here to answer any questions you may have.

Take care,

Jennifer

I'm still waiting on response from transportation guy. I think we all will be fine, we may need to focus more on things on this end and things in our control. By the way how did you guys handle the save the dates and what are you doing on invitations, I've explored a million ideas only to still not know what I'm going to do, any suggestions?

big3n09-could i also get your transportation guys info if possible?

I am doing save the dates via email...I wanted to do actual cards-but I am trying to cut costs...postage is increasing in May-so that was yet another factor I needed to include for the expenses.

I have seen so many inviatations types-DIY, wedding paper divas etsy, and I can;t decide on anyting either! I don't want the traditional white cards-something colorful but classy and edgy...(not sure if this exists). I have also seen some invitations on bottles of wine, scrolls, passport invites...

I still haven't even created a website!

Everyone that is coming to my wedding is pretty much just family members (like Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother). And we all live within 20 minutes of each other and see and talk to each other every day. So we aren't doing save the dates or invitations. I am thinking of putting together an information packet though that covers everything for my Bridesmaids and the best man. Just to make sure that no information gets lost when talking with them. An idea I saw online was a boarding pass shaped invitation that had all the information on it--I thought it was really fun, so I might use this idea.

I asked Kerry the other day if it is possible to change the menu a bit and lower the cost. $115 is a bit much per person for my budget. I was hoping it would be possible to eliminate a few courses (1 Soup, 1 of the Salad choices and the two desserts course as we will just eat the wedding cake). Has anyone heard if this is possible? I need the food cost to be closer to $85.00 or under per person.

Hello MDC brides!! I'm the bride that just got married at MDC on 2/7/09. So I'm here to answer any questions that you may have and I can email you the link to my wedding pics...I just don't want to post it on the message board. I asked about cutting down the menu too, but those are their set prices...so good luck! It ends up being $135 a person after the taxes and we had a total of 30 people (including us). It's alot of food, so just make sure you tell your guest not to eat all day until the wedding! lol Honestly, don't stress...Linus and Kerry are on top of everything and when it gets closer to your wedding, that's when they'll really be in touch with you. Before my wedding, there were times I didn't hear from anyone for a week, but I didn't worry about it b/c I knew they were just opening the resort. Hope this helps!! :)
