Song to walk down the aisle

Recommended Posts

I've spent the last half hour looking up all of your songs!

I love Damien Rice!!! And I just looked up Chantal K... I like that song a lot!!!

We really like Love You In the Fall, and Snow Patrol Chasing Cars, or the one that goes It's so clear now that you are all that I have.

So many good ones to choose from!!!

We decided there were just too many logistics involved in getting an ipod or something to play at the ceremony (who will play it, what if it's wrong...etc) so we hired a Mariachi trio to start 30 minutes before the ceremony and play through the cocktail hour (total of 2 hours). In the end, we feel happy with this decision since we are getting married in Mexico, we wanted the wedding to have a little Mexican flair to it. We also are doing a legal ceremony, so there will be spanish involved!

I should not be on here, lol, but my husband is sleeping still (long night) so I came on to look and I had to post. I walked down to We Belong Together. It is very accoustic and beachy, even talking about the beach and everyone loved it. I also love What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life by Barbara Streisand, so I saved it for the first dance.

You guys songs are great... I think the Somewhere Over The Rainbow would draw emotion from everyone!

All the parents and attendants walked down the aisle to Canon in D. I walked down to Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. We used O Mio Babbino by Pucchini for our unity candle and while the pastor said a blessing (not mic'd). Our recessional was the Concerto for Two Violins by Bach. We had two violinists (one of whom also played the piano) doing all our ceremony music...it was so pretty and the violins really made me want to keep a classical feel to everything!

Selecting songs has been an ongoing project. I keep changing my mind. FI wants to enter on a "special" song as well... Anyone's FI want a song other than what you had in mind?
That is why he is encharge of the music. I love Patty Labelle "My love" from the waiting exhale sound track

we finally decided our music, my FI was a trumpet player so he is big into classical music but we both love the somewhere over the rainbow, so we are leaving the ceremony to that song.

so here's our list

"Canon in D" Johann Pachelbel

“Piano Concerto No. 23”

“Spring Song”

Bridesmaids, Flower Girls and Ring Bearers

“Ombra Mai Fu (Handel’s Largo), *repeat until all are down aisle* George Frederic Handle

Bride

“Trumpet Concerto in D Major” *twice or longer as needed*

Recessional:

“Somewhere Over the Rainbow” 50 first dates soundtrack

christine a lot of the songs you have listed I have written down as options as well, its funny! But I know FI wants to kind of keep things light and not super formal, and he wants the songs to kind of represent who we are, so I'm going to have to go through them with him again so we can decide!

Melissa, I love enya too and was considering a couple of their songs, don't remember the names, some of them sound so sad though, I have a lot of work to do!
