KLO! It looks like it went beautifully! I'm so happy to hear that you had a great time! I'm having internet issues right now (the joy of living on a college campus) - but what I've seen of your photos, they look absolutely beautiful.

I have a friend who is down at MP for a wedding right now too, and she said she is in LOVE with it. I was soo excited to hear that!

Jillian, I think the smallest number of rooms they do group contracts for is 10 rooms, but I am in no way certain! I would have your TA or you should contact the reservations department and check for sure.

Shires, I have kind of an early wedding too - well, mine's at 1pm - but I was wondering if you've thought about how to set up your wedding day yet - are you going to still do a reception at night or keep it all in the afternoonhuh.gif I really can't decide if I want to put a gap in there!

I loved your pictures, did you take any pictures of your reception? I would love to see those if you have any.

Again, very happy for you!

Hi Rosie,

We did not have a "reception" instead we had a small private dinner, about 18 of us, at La Gondola...it is one of their Italian Restaurants. It was perfect! All of our closest friends enjoying dinner and sharing stories/memories.

The resort delivered our cake to the restaurant and had it all set up next to our dinner table. I don't have a ton of pictures from the dinner, but I will set up an album of what I do have and would love to share it with you.

I know that you are set on a beach wedding...I was too. Until I saw the chapel gazebo and fell in love with the beauty and tranquility that surrounds it. It was also a bonus to have the glass all the way around due to the fact that it was windy every afternoon that we were there. My husband and I decided to go with the chapel on our last meeting with Nancy, the WC, because of the weather forecast for that day. In the end, it turned out to be a beautiful day and the clouds moved in the following day! smile159.gif

We were also lucky enough to see a beach wedding one day while walking on the beach. It was beautiful! The runner is about 20-30 feet long and about 5 feet wide. It is very sturdy so you don't need to worry about wearing heels. The only down side to it was that your wedding party has to stand in the sand the whole time... The beach weddings are located in the area right behind the chapel gazebo. Actually, the area where we took our beach pictures is the exact location for it. The seaweed was not a concern for me...I thought it was well taken care of and it also added "character" to our pictures.

But no matter what you decide, the beach or a gazebo, the resort staff will make sure to make it the most wonderful day of your life!

Hi Karla,

Thank you for remembering that I am interested in a beach wedding!!! I'm so glad you gave me the measurements for the runner, as I want to buy petals to cover the entire runner he he I am also happy to hear the runner is sturdy for my high heels.

Do you happen to know where the carriage stops in a beach wedding ( I am assuming you can use the carriage for the beach wedding as well right?)

Thanks for your help!!!

PS I also loved the calla centerpiece you used in your ceremony

nibsmom, my wedding is a private one with just my fiance and me...so no worries about receptions or making other people comfortable. I really don't know what we'll do the rest of the day though. I cannot imagine trapsing around the resort wearing my wedding gown all day long...it's not *that* comfortable anyway. :) I want to do something fun and special...
