Bianca,

Did you decide to hold your reception at the resort? I've been doing some checking for a rehearsal off-site and the cheapest I came up with was $35/pp, not including drinks. That was in PDC.

Did you ever find out anything further about a 2nd entree?

I'm just going to do it all at the resort. With all the money we are spending, whats a little more. I think the off-site reception would cost more anyways considering my group will be under 20 guests.

I never asked again about the second entree option. Jacy said that you pick the menu 2 months before the wedding, so I'm just going to leave it for then. I plan on making/designing my menu according to what they offer. I will pick out my 1 of everything and 2 for the entree. I'm thinking beef and chicken. I'm not a seafood person. I don't even remember the choices. I am not willing to pay more than say... $15 an entree. That might be a little up there, but I have no idea what to expect... I guess I will go email Jacy now just to find out. I might as well include it in the invites.

Hi Ladies,

I got an email from Jacy today and she said the hotel is coming alone beautifully!! =) She said that she would send me updated pictures as soon as they are open.

I also was looking for some help the wedding is coming very quickly and I am at a loss of what to get my bridesmaids. I was thinking of putting a beach bag together for them with fun things that they would each like. Any suggestions would be great.

I did want to let you know that Eric and I have booked our caterman adventure through the compnay that Jacy referred they have been wonderful!! They cut their price in 1/2 we are only paying $52 a head, much better. The name of the company is Amstar.

Hope all is well with everyone!!

Hi lyales---do you have a price range that you want to stay within for your bridesmaids? I have some ideas, but they obviously range...I love the idea of monogrammed beach bags and towels (with their initials, not "bridesmaid"). I have a bag from a wedding I was in and use it all the time! I would also include some basic vacation stuff--magazines, sunscreen, nicer flip flops (teva or j.crew?), advil, lip balm, some nice body lotion for after being in the sun. Depending on their personalities / taste, you could also do a cute sun hat or sunglasses. A sarong or tunic or other cover-up would be a possibility too.

Can you tell I have my own list goinghuh.gif

I agree I think the bags are a great idea!! I actually bought floppy sun hats yesterday for $15 a piece. =) In regards to the catermeran I believe that we leave the resort late morning 10-2 while out there we will snorkel, have a light lunch, and cocktails. Right now I am trying to work with them to maybe leave around noon, since I have more guest coming in that Friday than I had expected. I thought this would be a great way for everyone to get to know each other prior to the wedding.

hey ladies...not sure there is anyone getting married in Jan 09 among you, but i just received the AMResorts "sale" email...$139 per person/night for the month of January at DPA. My guests are paying just over $200 per person/night at DT in January so this sounds like a GREAT deal...

might be a good time for a site visit...

I'm trying to book my room for next May. The TA I am using says the Family rooms come with 2 double beds. I am going to share with my niece and nephew and don't really want to share a double bed. The websites I found say that the rooms have 2 queen beds in them. The TA also quoted me a price for a family suite (one in the preferred club level). That one seems to have a pull out sofa in addition to the 2 beds, but she is telling me it is 2 doubles. Is there any advantage to the club level, other than you're on the top floor and there's a private lounge?

Hi Rory---We booked into the Preferred Club level also. There are a few other amenities. Here is the list given to me by my TA:

Preferred Club which includes; private concierge, club lounge, free Internet access, pillow menu, VIP amenities, superior room service menu, wider selection of minibar items, and hors d'oeuvres in the morning and afternoon.

Definitely not something we needed, but we booked one of the honeymoon suites with the outdoor jacuzzi, so it was included with that.

Thanks Allimay for the info on the gazebo capacity.

Is anyone having a bunch of people for sure and trying to work on dinner costs.

I really want to have dinner and dancing and have a beautiful wedding bc Were not having a reception when we get back to the states- and I just am having a hard time how much everything is going to cost me sad.gif with 50 + or so people. Anyone have it all planned out price wise yet?

I wanted a private reception but do you ladies know if it is for sure possible to maybe go for the best pkg but downgrade the meal to silver so that silver menu price for people over 20 can be used? ?

I know that sounds kinda like im being cheap but Im expecting a pretty good turnout and im on a budget....
