Help I need big girl makeup!

Recommended Posts

I'm a toal see it in at Target or the drug store and buy it kind of gal, cheap and it will work for the time being. Seriously, I think I have tried every foundation under the sun at these places... I have never gone to the counters .. I feel soooo intimidated.. which is just silly I know!! I go overboard with everything else in taking care of myself but just never in the makeup dept.

Jay and I were just talking about this and he wanted me to ask you all what your makeup of choice is? His words "Hell go ask the girls!" I want to have flawless face but not the cakey nasty feeling of a hot humid summers day with what I use now espec not for my wedding day and not when in Jamaica. Do you use a mineral powder brand or a counter item?

OK sooo I feel horribly dumb about this since yeah I'm a hairdresser and I deal with the public everyday and always need that fresh face look. I wear it to make me beautiful and it's just the part of being a stylist along with the hair... but I have no clue about this stuff.. whats a girl to do??

I'm stepping up the plate and buying big girl makeup .. ok soooo maybe Jay said he would pick up the tab on this, so fire away.

Sorry this is sooo random... and jumbled around.. I swear its the Bridezilla working its way in with less than 30 days till we leave!

clinique makes a foundation called superfit and its suppose to stay in place through workout sweat and everything. I really like the color match too! The girls behind the counter will totally be into you when you tell them you are looking for makeup for your wedding. Call ahead of time a make an appointment to have them all to yourself.

I have to say MAC, go to the counter and ask them to match some foundation for your face. They have liquid, studio fix (which is a little heavier for coverage), mist which is super lightweight, tinted moisturizer, so many kinds for different skin types. You will definitely find the coverage and match you need there.

I highly reccommend Bare Escentuals foundation. Prior to finding this foundation, I never really had worn foundation because I like to be natural and I hate heavy crap on my face. I have tried so many liquid foundations and never found one that I liked. I also never really wore eyeshadow prior to using bare escentuals.

Bare Escentuals foundation is ranked as the #1 foundation by Allure Magazine, which beat out all others. It goes on as a powder and blends really nicely so it looks like your own skin. Check into the "Get Started Kit" - you can find that on ebay or on qvc.com or on bareescentuals.com.

Now, I actually have become a makeup freak because I love the makeup so much!

I am, well was the exact same way!!

I tried Bare Minerals but didn't like it.

Then I tried Laura Mercier. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Even with the foundation primer on, you still don't feel like you're wearing make up. I highly recommend it!

there is so much out there- Mac is awesome, but Laura Mercier is nice also- I would say go to Sephora and ask someone- they will sit you down and color test you and also find the coverage you are looking for- they are great and it is kinda fun - takes the guess work out of it for you!

Im a half Clinique/half MAC girl. Im a super-tomboy, so I hear ya on the feeling intimidated about the make-up counter, but really its not that bad. Ive always had good experiences with the make-up counter girls. Most will show you how to do your make-up "big girl style". Good luck!

I used to use Lancome. I love it until I found Bare Essentuals. I can't live without it. I do prefer Elizabeth Arden Mascara though. I would take a day, go to a few different makeup counters and see how you feel with it on. Make sure you tell them its for your wedding and you don't want it to feel to "heavy" and to show you how they're doing it as they go along. It's easy for them to do it since that's there job! But once you go to do it, you may get something drastically different!!

Oh and I absolutely LOVE MagiX Face Perfector by Avon. It keeps you from getting the shine and keeps your foundation even across your face. Did I mention I loved it?
