to feel beautiful on your wedding day when you know you are overweight? I was suppose to lose a ton of weight. Life got in the way, I am retiring on Tuesday from my job as a police officer as I can not return to work because of my back issues. I am in extreme pain daily and can not work out because of my back. All this has caused extreme depression hence my abscense from BDW lately. So...I stress eat and have not lost much weight at all. Just about 12lbs. I really need to lose another 20 to feel great but its not going to happen. I told my FI/DH that I wanted to call it all off as we are legally married anyway (had to for insurance purposes in Aug 0cool.gif. He wont have any part of that. I am worried and depressed that I will feel awful about myself not only that day but when I look back at pictures. Anyone go through this?

I think most brides feel this to some extent. I wanted to lose more than I had, but it didn't happen. I thought I would be thinking about it on my wedding day & I didn't think about it once. I had the dress altered, so it fit my current body like a glove & I was so happy in it.

I don't know if this has helped at all, but I wanted to let you know that you're not alone in your thoughts.

steph, i think we all go thru this no matter how we are seen by others, there is always the way we fell about ourselves, and even the most gorgeous and perfect of us still feel uncomfortable with ourselves now and then. you are going to be so gorgeous on your wedding day, your happiness will shine thru and everyone will see how radiant you look. even when you look back at pictures, you will see how happy you were that day, and i promise you wont think twice about anything else.

i worried the same as you did, and everytime i look at pictures from the wedding days, (my BFW and cabo weddings) sure i pick out things here and there that could have looked better, but 99% of what i see is a beautiful me, brimming with excitement and happiness over the day and the meaning of the event. you will too! i promise!

It is so hard to lose... and I understand, with medical issues, it's like running against a whirlpool... but, you are going to be YOU on your wedding day, not some chick in a picture, you and the person who completes you. Don't let your weight shape your emotions for the day, I know you will be gorgeous on that day, and so will the man next to you who you are going to marry. I was never skinny, always a "bigger" girl, and I tried so hard to lose weight to try to "meet someone".... and that is not what matters! I wish someone had told me all those years!!! As time goes on, do it for your health after the wedding, but enjoy that day, you so deserve it!!

Do i think youll feel fat on your wedding day?heck no,you will look fantastic im sure.Try to put a positive spin on it and be glad you lost the twelve.Try not to put any that youve worked so hard to shift back on, just because your trying not to put it on will help you to loose a little more without putting more pressure on yourself. You have a good few weeks to go yet.BE POSITIVE YOU WILL LOOK AMAZING.

As others have said, I think at one point or another every single one of us feels crappy about the way we look - our thighs, spare tire, cottage cheese booty etc. FI always says that feeling good about yourself isn't about ONE DAY - it's a journey for the rest of your life. Think positive that you have lost the 12 pounds already and, while you will work hard before the wedding that day is just the first day of forever and you can continue to work at it after the wedding!

like all of us I am also trying to loose weight for the big day. I was always a natural skinny person and now that I am aging I am gaining, and gaining weight my FI says he doesn't even recognize me lately. No matter if I loose or gain weight it will be our day I know he will think I look beautiful and I know I won't care if I am a size 12, 10, 0r 2. I will be in my dream dress walking down the sand towards the man of my dreams and that is truly what matters.

I know it will be hard to think like this, but you don't have to lose weight to be beautiful or feel beautiful! Do things up to that point that make you feel better! Get your toes done, get a massage, or do special makeup tricks! Your FI wants you! Also, most of how we feel about ourselves is in our head...so work on that! With all you have done for your wedding and for the both of you...you need to focus on that and tell yourself you are beautiful! I do this and I also don't compare myself to what others have that I don't...in fact I MAKE myself think one nice thing about everyone....it has helped me a lot! Tell your FI you need him to compliment you more too...that is easy for them to do and without fail it perks you up a bit! Think positive!

I too had planned on losing a bunch of weight before the wedding as I am the heaviest I have ever been and hate seeing myself in pictures. I just had my second dress fitting yesterday and although I am not at the weight I hoped I would be I still felt like a beautiful bride in my dress. I am going to work out as much as I can and watch what I eat until the wedding. If I lose some more weight that would be great, but I am not going to let a few extra pounds ruin my wedding day, and you shouldn't either.

Be glad you managed to lose some weight. :) Losing weight isn't the easiest thing in the world. And I too am hoping to lose weight by my wedding date... like 40 pounds in a year... :P But if I end up only losing 20, I'm not going to let it ruin my day that's for sure. Weight loss is better than weight gain (ugg... why is it so easy to gainhuh.gif lol).
