Hi ladies...i'm throwing a housewarming in a couple of weeks and since we'll have 20 or so guests, we decided to do an appetizer buffet instead of a dinner.

Does anyone have a favorite homemade or semi-homemade recipe or idea to share?

thanks in advance!

Andre*a*licious: are the recipes floating somewhere on the forum? i'll try to find it...beer cheese dip huh? I better keep my pug away from the table then...he has many food loves but cheese and going around and sneaking licks from everyone's beer can is another!

Case*a*licious: thanks for helping me dig it up! can't wait to get it!

My DH is laughing at me because I was debating on handing out favors...lol i'm still in wedding planning mode!

Beer Cheese Dip Recipe from BDW with my suggestions

2 pkg 8oz cream cheese (softened)

2 handfulls shredded cheddar cheese (regular grate)

1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch dip mix

1/2 cup crispy bacon pieces plus a little extra for garnish

chopped chives or green onions for garnish

1/3 cup beer

Mix cream cheese, ranch mix, and beer together with mixer. Add handfuls of cheese and 1/2 C crispy bacon and mix by hand. Spoon into serving dish and garnish with some cheese, bacon pieces and green onions/chives. I served with pretzles, chips and carrots. I recommend taking it out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before serving because it will be very firm. I zapped it in the microwave for 20 seconds and that worked well too. It's soooo good!!!
