Album From Claudia

Hi! We are looking at Claudia Rodriguez and was wondering if anyone who has hired her could tell us what the album looked like.

I just got the album that came with the package, I didn't order an additional one because I made my own. If I had thought of it prior to reserving her I would have asked for no album and no prints and just the pictures on disk with the rights to the pictures because I knew I was going to make my own album anyway, I really didn't need both.

 

Anyway, the album that came with the package is just a standard album, nothing crazy, black, with a hole in the front for a picture, it has a pebbled leather feel too it, but I don't think its real leather (I could be wrong) each page holds two 4x6 pictures and there is a space next to each pic to write something.

 

It's not a bad album, but I'm not sure what kind of album you want either, and this may not be it if you're looking for something more top of the line.

 

One reason I liked making my own album was that I could pick my own pictures. They sent me the album with prints that they had picked out and some of them were not pictures I would have chosen.

The Photographer chose what photos would go in your album That's a new one.

I don't really think that's that uncommon. My package came with a specific amount of prints so she picked them and packaged them in a small album. If I had ordered a seperate album, like a coffee table book, then I would have expected to have seen a proof beforehand. I know there are other brides that had a package and the photographer chose the prints to send them.

Wow. I just can't imagine choosing all of the photos that I think the B&G would want and saying "here ya go!"

 

I could do a simple portrait session and 99 times out of 100 I wouldn't be able to pick what the customer's favorite photos are. Photographers just see things differently.

 

Just surprised that's all. Maybe it's because we typically only do the coffee table books where there is a lot of design work involved.

yes, I could see it with the coffeetable books, I wouldn't want someone else choosing the pictures, but I'd also be spending more money for that and would want to be sure I had some say in it.

The majority of the fee I paid was really for the photographers time, not so much for the pictures.

But I understand what you're saying.

Wow, you just brought a tear to my eye with that comment...Thank you for saying that. The next time someone asks me why I charge so much for a 5x7 print when they cost 50 cents at Walgreens, can I send them to you? j/k

I've always had the B&G pick out whatever photos they want in their album, whether it's a coffee table book or just a slip in album. I'm not wasting all of that time trying to figure out which ones I think belong in there, just to have they completely change what I've done. It's their wedding, and their money.

from my experience most B&G trust the photogs judgment on wich photos to use for the initial layout,, i mean they hired the photog for his eye,, from the layout they can then re-arrange from there, and also the photog does put some extra love into images that tend to stand out and have that impact that would be photo album quality,, this has been my experience working with clients,, im sure there will be some who disagree, ?

I got the same album Jilly did.

Ours was brown with a great picture of us on the front and she put them all in order.

If you look at a 4x6 print in landscape, I think it was 3 pictures tall.

I cannot remember by package, but I have more pictures on CD than I have in the album.

 

I have this album in our living room and at a party people had it out looking at it and it wasn't big and awkward for people to look it. It's thick, so I llike it.

 

One of these days I will get around to making a coffee table book on blurb.
