We were just told the dessert buffet was now $20 per person and included:

DESSERT BUFFET FOR MINIMUM OF 20 PEOPLE - $ 20 USD p/p

MEDIUM SIZE CAKES
LEMON TART 18 SERVINGS
SEVEN FRUIT TART 18 SERVINGS
OPERA CAKE 18 SERVINGS

LARGE CAKES
LARGE CHOCOLATE CAKE 1 PIECE LARGE APPLE PIE 1 PIECE
PASSION FRUIT CAKE 1 PIECE
RASPBERRY CHEESE CAKE 1 PIECE

FRUIT CAKE 1 PIECE
CHOCOLATE CAKE 1 PIECE
MACAROON (3 TYPES) SERVINGS

Does this sound similar to what you had? What about finger foods? How was the presentation?

Thanks for all your help.

I know we have had the photographer discussion many times, but my friend is a photographer and will be staying at the resort for 7 days, 6 nights. She therefore is just a guest taking pictures, right? I shouldn't have to deal with any of the fees, right? I'm afraid to ask Monica.

  • 3 months later...

Hi,

I just booked my wedding at EDR for May 2, 2009. I'm SO happy that decision has been made, but, now I need to make a lot more decisions! :)

I am wondering...For any past or future EDR brides, how soon did you choose the locations for the wedding events (ceremony, cocktail, reception)? I was told by my WC that you can't book locations until at least 6 months before...

What has been your experience?

Thanks for your help!

Great idea for this thread!

Name: Amy

Wedding Date: Dec 1 2008

Time: 4:00pm

Number of Guests: 22

Ceremony Location: Gazebo 55 (cake and champagne toast to follow ceremony)

Private Cocktail Party after Reception: Mexican - Location unknown at this time

* In lieu of using the 'free group dinner reservation' in our free wedding package, we will be using this meal for a group breakfast, the day of the wedding at El Cocotal.

Amy, anytime we had breakfast at El Cocotal, there was always a ton of room and we had no problem sitting with everyone if we wanted to. I would recommend you use this for a dinner at Las Fuentes or El Cocotal. We preferred Fuentes. Maybe a welcome dinner or good bye dinner. Just my two cents.

I highly recommend Gazebo 55. It had a beautiful extended view of the ocean and was relatively private.

We actually changed our dessert reception location after we got there, and there were 3 other weddings that day.
