AA to charge for 1st checked bag "grrr"

I'm mad too! Alaska Airlines is now charging me for the second bag which they weren't charging for when we booked. They shouldn't be able to just change it like that!

I wonder if international travelers can have 1 or 2 checked bags for free. Its very unclear.

Wow, I had to read this thread twice. Charging for the 1st checked bag? Oh no!! Now all carriers are going to follow this. That's amazing, I kind understood about the 2nd bag, but the 1st bag.... wow! That sucks! Thank God we mostly carry on.

OMG - I just called our TA and besides this, US airways is now charging $15 for an aisle seat!

AN AISLE SEAT!!WTF?? When is the madness going to end!

Ugh this blows.... I have an international flight booked for Christmas but I know you ladies have your DWs therefore you will have alot more bags than myself. Totally BLOWS!!!

ladies call your carrier and make sure whatever fees theyve now added are actually applicable to you --- often if you purchased your ticket by a certain date, the new price hikes for luggage and other things dont apply to you.

Yeah - I called my TA and he is out to lunch. I just spoke with the other agent. They hadn't even heard about the $15 on AA. Did I mention almost ALL of my guests are flying AA? I have everyone bringing stuff in their checked bags! This totally blows. I'm waiting to see what he says when he calls me back.

Thanks Maura! Well it looks like most of us getting married in mexico are all fine right becasue international are excluded from this. Thank god! think of $15 for first bag $25 for additional bag both ways! holy crap!
