Mashed Potatoes ... any yummy twists?

i am making a huge pot of mashed potatoes and was thinking maybe I would separate them into 2 or 3 smaller batches and spice them up a bit - maybe 1 with chives etc.

anybody have any favorite twists instead of plain mashed?

(I am making 2 different kinds of potatoes - sweet potatoes and yukon gold or butter potatoes)

sour cream (some people add this all of the time!), cheese, garlic .... hmmmm, now i'm hungry!

I agree with Ann- I always add cheese, garlic and bacon bits to the butter potatoes. YUMMY!

ummmmm, man, i am bad, aren't i!? ya know, i think a lot of it has to do with my diet lately too ... with no kitchen, i've been eating out so much or just having pb&j (like today at lunch!) that i am so hungry for a home-cooked meal. like a plain ol' meal of meat and potatoes sounds AWESOME!

What time should I be over?

I sometimes add wasabi to them and make it a wasabi mashed potatoes.

You can also roast garlic in the oven and throw it in. With crumbled feta its amazing! so delicious just make sure you put ALOT of feta!

btw, the wasabi mashed, is separate from the garlic and feta mashed...it might be kind of gross if you put it all together..haha!
