I want to add the Bar Method to my weekly schedule...Does anyone else go to The Bar Methodhuh.gif

The Bar Methodâ„¢ exercise system creates a uniquely lean, firm, sculpted body by reshaping and elongating muscles while maintaining an intense pace that burns fat and increases stamina. The hour-long class is composed of eight or nine strengthening exercises followed by stretches. The strength work combines holding positions that use the bodyâ€s own weight with small, controlled moves that increase range of motion and stamina. Stretching is focused on the hips, chest and lower back to improve posture and body alignment. Students begin the class with free weights and push-ups, move to the bar to work their legs and abdominals, and finish on mats for more core work and stretching.

Welcome to The Bar Method
I have never done this but my friend is a teacher at the los angeles one and she has a kick ass body! A few of my friends have gone to her class and love it!

What are NIA classes?
Apparently its a type of workout that incorporates a bunch of different moves taken from Yoga, T'ai'chi, Tae Kwon Do, Jazz Dance, Modern Dance etc... its supposed to be amazing. I was talking to my mom today and she was telling me that her friend's daughter has been teaching it in Toronto for a few months and she's apparently in amazing shape now. She used to be kind of "soft" like me, so if she's toned now from this its definatley encouraging. Just my luck too, there are classes being held at the dance center beside our building, so I can't procrastinate even if I tried...lol. Here's the website for NIA, it sounds pretty cool Nia The Technique

Have you talked to your OB about working out?

I am glad your DH is looking out for you. Listen to him! :)

How are you feelinghuh.gif?
My OB told me I could continue to do whatever I'm doing, but just listen to my body. If I run, don't run and get completely out of breathe, don't lift too much....just commen sense stuff. He told me to shoot for 20 minutes of exercise per day.
I feel great. My girls are VERY sore too. I'm wearing a tank with built in bra 24 hours a day. They HURT!! I was nauses a little on Sat., but other than that I am good!
Sorry for the hijack! smile78.gif
