My centerpieces

Recommended Posts

So, I'm trying to decide on what to use for centerpieces. I went to Hobby Lobby today because they had Christmas stuff on sale and our colors are beige and white with accents of red. I found silver charger platters for $1.87 each, and silver and glass hurricane candleholder/vases for 75% off.

I bought cream satin fabric and used a red runner I had at home. For the real thing, we will use the beige tablecovers Dreams provides, with a cream satin and red runner (not sure what material the red will be- velvet seemed a little heavy for Cabo!).

So, here's some pictures of the "mock up" at home. Jeff thought I should put a dollar on the table for some scale, but with as messed up as my house is, I think there's enough junk around that you can tell how big they are! We were in the middle of wrapping presents when I decided I need to do this- seriously this wedding has caused me to get ADHD!

The first two are of some different orchids, the last one is with a crazy glitter grass I found. It's probably a little too much, but I wanted to take one for fun.

Here they are- please tolerate the fuzzy pics and the VERY rough draft of my future table decor!

Sarah, here's my two cents. Both are nice and the glitter grass really pops, but the sophistication and simple elegance of the orchid is GREAT!

I'd suggest filling vases with floral foam and moss. you could also do reall orchids from the home depot.

I agree with velvet seeimg too heavy but it didn't photograph that way at all. As long as it's cruched you may be okay. I think that will turn out beautifully!

Are you intending to use tealights or votives?

I like the second one best. And I agree I think the velvet is a little heavy for a beach wedding but if you love it you should defenitly do it. An alternative is to get a red felt material runner. You can get one at an arts and crafts store so that it looks flat on the table and if you pick out a really good one it won't look like felt material.
