I am super excited and wanted to update you all on our progress!

We went to IKEA last night and got the frames - they are 4x6 and 3 for $1.99 - you can't beat that price! They are unfinished - look like pine wood - but will paint nicely.

I found out that they sell vellum at office depot and staples that is made for ink jet printers - the stuff from the craft store was expencive and make a mess when you tried to print on it. I payed $10.00 for 50 sheets at office depot.

As far as the dirrection of the pictures the frames need to stay vertical since the candle light doesn't work very well when it is spead out horizontally. We are working on the pictures now and are trying to find an easy program to change the pictures from color to sepia tones. If anyone has any tips on that let me know.

I will post pictures when I get some samples done. It is super cute that my FI is totally into this project! GOD I LOVE HIM!

Photo shop will change the pictures really easily to sepia color.

Also if you have a digital camera (any of them) the program them come with all have the capability of doing changing to sepia. I have a HP and a Kodak both programs can do it.

Also if you have a MAC Iphoto does it too.

If you take your pictures to a Costco to scan they can also scan them in sepia for you.

OK I have a picture of the work in progress but I can not post it since it says the size is too big - I am not sure how to correct this but maybe someone can let me know and i can post it tommorrow.

THESE ARE GOING TO BE VERY CUTE - they aren't finished yet but I think they are going to be a huge hit. The pictures that we are using in the sample are black and white and we haven't painted the frames yet but this will give you a good idea of what they look like. I am going to try printing the pictures in a sepia tone since the colors of our wedding are a bright/dark pink and orange and I think the sepia tones would work better with those colors. I will post a finish product when I get one done but wanted to share the sample I have now. Hopefully I can get this to work in the morning!

Sarah, if you upload your photos to a site like Photobucket, you can resize them easily there. Then just copy/paste the IMG code into the message.

It is really hard to get a good picture of this - I would love to be able to show how great it looks with all the lights off and the candle inside lit but it is impossable to get a picture that turns out that way. The main thing everyone should know is that the images really light up nice and you can totally see the details of the peoples faces in the pictures. SORRY I cant get a better shot but you get the idea - I would totally recommend any interested in trying the project GO FOR IT! I think you will be pleased with the result!

***I forgot to mention that in the dirrections from Martha Stewart it talks about putting 3 frames together to make a triangle shape - In our example we used 4 frames and made a square - just sounded better to us and it worked out just as good!***
