Boutonniere necessary?

My FI is saying that he doesn't want to get boutonnieres (sp?) for him and the groomsmen because it would look weird since they are not wearing suit jackets, just button down shirts. What do you all think?

My DH didn't wear one, and to be honest I didn't really care one way or the other, I thought it still looked great in the pictures without one.

James and his guys didn't wear one either. I didn't care either way.

I don't think that they are necessary, but I do like the starfish boutenneires that I have seen

I don't think they are necessary either and brad thinks he doesn't want one either. He can decide that and I won't care.

I'm switthichg the boutonniere for a neckless!... I think it will do great..., and I'm doing it for all the guys, my dad, his dad, my guero...

Will had one because it came free with the package. (well not free but it was included in the flat rate) He wore a suit so we went with it, we got one for like $15 for the best man and he wore a guayabera (no jacket). It looked fine but it was so not necessary. If yours doesn't want to wear one I say skip it.
