Bahamas Bride- October 9, 2011

Hi everyone! My name is Anthea and I am planning my DW for next October in the Bahamas. I am currently trying to pin down a venue and I am torn between Pelican Bay at Lucaya and Our Lucya Resort on Grand Bahama Island. At first I wanted to have my wedding in Nassau, but I could not find any hotels that I think will have affordable rates for all my guests.

I am also confused in choosing wedding colors because it is a Fall wedding, but I will be in the Caribbean so I don't want to use colors that will be too dark. Ugh!! Any help on color schemes would be much appreciated!

My fiance and I are very excited to be getting married in a tropical oasis with our close friends and family. Any help that any other Bahamas brides can give me would mean the world to me. I hope to do a site visit by the end of the year so whatever I find out I will definitely share with everyone! Thanks for all your help in advance!

Congrats and welcome to the forum! As for you color scheme, go with whatever you want! You can pretty much throw away your typical wedding fuax pas when doing a DW you're in a tropical place and there aren't any restrictions on your colors and decor.

Hi Anthea! Congrats and welcome to the forum! I am also having the same dilemma! I want to get married in the Bahamas, but it is a little pricey. I got a rate for the RIU Paradise Island and thought it was too much money. We'll see what happens. :-S

Good luck and happy planning!! :)
