Best wishes to all of you.
This is good to hear! I am glad there are people who still hold these values. I wasnt that good at waiting, but maybe we will hold off for a month before the wedding to make it more exciting! Congrats to all of you!

No that's not a bad thing, because when life gets in the way and things become hectic, sex can sometimes be the first thing to go. It's important to find ways to stay connected with your spouse, because a physical connection might not always do the trick!

BUT stress does kill libido! wink.gif

LMAO!! If I told my FI who I've been with for nearly 11 years now, that I wanted to wait for three months or the week leading up to the wedding he would agree knowing that I wouldn't be able to uphold it myself, lol!

We both figure we aren't going to be intimate the night of our wedding because we'll be so tired and possibly a bit too drunk to consumate our new lives together. We prolly won't until the next morning. In fact, I hear this happens to a lot of couples.

Hahaha.... I bet it happens A LOT! I ended up getting sick the night before the wedding with an awful cold and my DH got wayyyyy tooo drunk. Hey, the reception is a party and you have your whole life to have sex. wink.gif

We have been together and continue to :) , but we agreed not to between the legal part in the states and the wedding. We may end up doing the legal part in December, which is 3 months before the wedding so it will be tough! We shall see how it goes!!!

Just found this thread, and wanted to throw in my two cents! I admire all of you ladies who have been able to wait, or chosen to create a waiting period before the wedding! My FI and I are doing the same thing as a girl mentioned, not being with eachother between the legal ceremony in Canada and the ceremony in the DR.

My FI almost laughed in my face when I joked about waiting once we got engaged! We've lived together for over a year....and there's no way either one of us could hold out that long!

Good for you ladies out there who are waiting! Your wedding night will be truly special!

I know you're not looking for praise, but I'll give it to ya'll!

I have no self restraint either BUT, just wait till after you do it...you will be like the rest of us, absolutely no more restraint and as horny as a teenager! lol

FYB87...TMI on the grinding! lol hahaha, but it brings back memories :)

I think its going to be more exciting. It will not be my FI's first time but he has been celibate since we have been together, and I think it makes him kind of excited to wait also. We are planning to have a late flight out after the wedding, so it will have to wait until we get to our destination.

What an interesting conversation !

On my side I actually always had the reverse approach : sex is so important in my life that I truly believed that a man with whom sex would be bad could not be the man of my life. Independent of all his other qualities ! After all, your husband is is the ONLY person with whom you are going to have sex for the rest of your life so... what if it's terrible sex ?

I honestly think, knowing myself very well, that this would have been a disaster - maybe even leading me to cheating which is the ONE THING I NEVER WANT to do ever !

It was therefore very important to me to do it... actually before we even got engaged so that I could have an answer at all !

Not sure if it makes sense to you girls who decided to wait - you would probably look at me with the same eyes than people look at you when you tell them about your decision, lol !
