What time is your ceremony?

Recommended Posts

Hi Jamaica brides!

I'm wondering - how did you all decide what time to get married (if you had a choice)? I know that the country does not allow any weddings after 6pm. I love mornings in JA, but I'm looking forward to good food and drinks and dancing and I don't know how folks would feel about being tipsy by early afternoon! I like the idea of a sunset ceremony -- if the sun sets at 6:30, what will it look like at 5:00pm. Just wondering what's best for pictures (??)

well I am not getting married in jamaica. I am getting married in the bahamas. From all the choices I picked 2pm on the beach. i know that is most likely the hottest time of the day, but you have a bit later to get ready than a morning ceremony, and more time to celebrate than an evening ceremony. Plus we are getting married on the very last full day we have there. So not to late, the better since we have to come home the next day.

Good luck with choosing. I wish you good luck.

I chose 4pm i wanted a kinda of later ceremony, not too early but not too late and this is the last time of day for the resort wedding. I also wanted it to be closer to dinner time we are having a small guest list about 20ppl total including us so I want to have dinner at one of the resort restaurants. and also so its not has hot like a middle of the day wedding although in JA its still hot at 4pm and we get to have fun in the morning before we get ready for the festivites.

We're doing ours at 4....I think its the latest offered.....I wanted the evening one so the day is so super long on everyone....guests can still enjoy the morni ng at the beach or pool, enjoy a nice lunch-relax, then head back early afternoon to get ready.....I wouldnt go any later actually, because of the pics.....wouldnt want to miss out on good sun n daylight.....

We decided on 2 pm. We knew it would be the warmest part of the day, but with the wedding being in November, we thought it would be comfortable for our guests. It was the latest wedding slot allowed by our resort. It allows for a cocktail hour and a bit of munching until dinner time, and then the party can begin!

I wanted a later time so ideally I wanted a 4pm wedding so our guests didn't have to wait too long between the ceremony and dinner however the date took the priority for us. We decided on Nov 12th because it is a special day for us. The latest app't available was 2pm so that's the time we took.
