Is anyone doing, or has anyone done, a photo guestbook? I'm trying to decide if we should use a digital camera and add photos later or if we should have an instant camera and lay it out next to the guestbook so that the guests can play with it and decorate the pages there. That sounds more fun, but I don't have an instant camera. I was just wondering if the photos will last and if there is a certain kind of camera I should get. I don't want to spend a ton of money on this...

I have decided to use a digital camera and have someone take the pictures. I am also going to do the whiteboard message with this. Let the guest write words of wisdom on a white board and then have their pic taken with the whiteboard. I got the idea off of this website. I just sent this info to the peeps that are throwing me a shower and my fmil to do at our AHR-at home reception. Good Luck to ya!

my friend did this at her wedding and it really added to the cocktail hour. we had a lot of fun doing it. she didnt use a polaroid but got this fuji instant camera instead. its not too expensive....also maybe enlist your bridal party to go around and take pics of the guests w a regular digital camera if you dont want to spend the money??

hope this helps!

I have heard AWESOME things about the Fuji camera. So that's a really cool option.

Poloroid also has a new digital camera which produces wallets without using ink. It's pretty awesome

Polaroid CZA-05300: Polaroid PoGo Instant Digital Camera - Instant Digital Camera

A little bit more pricey however.

Just a quick warning about the whiteboards... they are typically very reflective. A professional camera can point the light source away, but typically a normal camera will point the flash directly at it, causing large glare and you most likely won't be able to read what has been written. So if you are having an outdoor location or a reception somewhere where the lighting would cause a flash to be used, please consider that.
