We are looking for a photographer in the Maya Riviera for October 15th 2010. I have seen some beautiful photographers on here and the internet but many who are out of our budget.

 

Any suggestion for a 6-8 hour day full day preferred but not in the budget for about $2500?

 

I know it may be asking for a miracle but we can always try

Meaning that spending $2500 is too muchhuh.gif Sorry, that sentence just confused me a little.

 

But, if $2500 IS your budget, then it should be doable to fly someone in. I just took a major airport, so Chicago in this case. Travel for two people (most photographers require at least an assistant to go with them) is only $1100. Pay the fee on top of that, and you're right around $2500 for a bunch of photographers. Plus, you will get MORE than 6-8 hours of coverage. Instead you'll get coverage the day before, your wedding day, and a trash the dress the next day (if you want, of course). And most photographers packages will include the full resolution disc of images or some amazing prints.

I'd look into that.

And find one also that may already have a wedding there during that time. Like what we did for one client...we gave them a great deal because we already have a wedding in the Maya Riviera area the week before. so it was just matter of extending our week.

 

Let me know if you need some suggestions too on what to ask and expect from the photographer for that budget.

did you find anyone I am in the same boat as you as in with the budget.

I think finding a photographer in that range should be doable.

I just quoted two photographers flying in for three nights from Chicago (NO, that is not my airport so I'm not trying to sell you myself, just picked a major airport). It's right around $1500. So I would start emailing photographers in that area and seeing if they would be interested in photographing a wedding at your resort for $1000 or less (plus expenses). You should definitely be able to find a bunch! :) And photographers are usually willing to customize a package. So it never hurts to ask!

I agree check out the BDW vendors I'm sure one or more will fit into your budget perfectly! Just make sure to check with your resort if an outside vendor is allowed. I'm pretty sure Dreams either has a fee or your photographer needs to be a guest. Not sure about Riu but when I was married in 07' there was no outside vendor fee. In that case flying in a photographer may be your best bet! Best of luck I'm sure you'll find the perfect photographer for all your needs!
