Beachbody Insanity Chat

Well it's official... I cancelled my gym membership. Disregard the fact that I haven't been in months, but I just couldn't bring myself to actually drop it. DH and I are pretty active anyways and did P90X with amazing results before the wedding. We are getting back into running, but he can't stand to just run. So he bought Insanity last night and we are starting it today! I know there are a couple of Desties who have done this workout and thought we could share our experiences. I've heard mixed reviews on Insanity, but a workout change is always good.

Any other Insane people out there? Any advice for first timers? Please tell me the guy doesn't tell you to "Bring It" every 5 seconds!!!

I am so tempted whenever I see that infomercial on TV! I'd be interested to see what people think as well. Right now, I do the Power Half Hour by Tony Horton...

ETA: I started off doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, but wasnt' getting any results. And it was boring!

I bought and completed a month and a half of Insanity before I switched back to P90X. Insanity is NOT easy... I started it after a 2 month hiatus which was a mistake for sure. I'm on week 6 of my second round of P90X and plan to move back to Insanity and complete it right after I finish P90X.

I personally got in better shape with P90X but Insanity did build my endurance A LOT. I am doing P90X much easier now I know because of Insanity.

Let me know how you like it!

Carly ~ it was a toss up between Insanity and Power Half Hour! We went with Insanity because we are trying to build up endurance for some adventure races that we are thinking about doing. I'm going to follow your Power Half Hour thread to see if that is something for us to try out next!

Amy ~ We took a hiatus and then last week DH conviced me just go out and run 3 miles a couple of days. Sometimes I hate him wink.gif Anyways we need some variety so I'll keep y'all posted on what we think! And seriously you are crazy for another round of Tony Horton torture! Good luck :)

HAHA! I know right... I find myself mouthing along everything he says as he says it, I feel like I've memorized P90X!

what exactly is P90x and Insanity?

Hubby and I just started different yoga classes, yoga normally isn't my thing, but since I have been feeling pretty beat up afterwards, something seems to be telling me to stick with it and see how it goes. Yesterday was only my 2nd class.

Yoga is sooooo good for you. It takes a little while to get the hang of it, but I promise you will have better circulation, be more flexible and just feel better if you stick with it.

P90X and Insanity are just some Beachbody work out DVDs that kick your butt. They are pretty easy to set up at home and give good results if you stick with it. They also come with nutrition plans if you are motivated to do them.

I have been looking into both the P90X and the Insanity do you need a lot of room to do the workouts? I have a workout room but I have so much stuff in there bc I fall into the infomercial trap, I want to be sure I have enough room. They both look awesome.
