I am also just renting equipment and bringing down our ipod. I have seen brides do both and they say when they got DJ's they were s much fun. I would assume the $500 would also apply to the outside DJ.

I don't think Claudia posts links that are not on the website. I know Bree got married at AB in October, and used Erick, but her pix never went up on the site. Perhaps the wedding couple chooses not to?

You should check out Mexican Wedding Photos (link on the ads here), they have a few AB and AS weddings to view. Also, the wedding pix on this site from other brides even at other resorts and outside of Mexico I found helpdful.

I think I over looked at pictures when I was too early in the planning process and confused the hell out of myself. I changed my mind like every day.

Now I am doing simple white sheets on the wedding chuuppah and white Gladiolas in big vases at the base of the front posts. Wooden wedding plank and uncovered chairs without bows. I think I am going for the simple look?

I really wish I had a theme.... I saw Alice in Wonderland last night and thought that would be an awesome theme for a wedding - esp if you had little cup cakes for the cake and little bottles of tequila for the favors.
Did you see the new Alice in Wonderland? My FI & I were looking at previews and thought the movie looked great. That would make a great theme. You could have a tea party for your shower.

I am also going very simple b/c that is what we want and the extra added money. We are just having a white sheet for the wedding and our chairs are uncovered w/no bows. I actually like that look besides the background of Mexico will be the best decoration we could ask for. So lets hope for no rain.

Yeah the new Alice - it was good - the 3D was cool too. Too late for my shower (which is Mexican themed - go figure - lol) and wedding. My sister did a Midnight Summers Dream theme and it was awesome.

Michele, I am the same. I like the simple look plus my BMs are all wearing diff colors (pink, orange, blue, and purple) and FI is wearing all white so I thought we'd look nice all white under the white sheet. Some people say to use color to make things pop - and it does look really nice too, but then I thought the basic white chairs would look odd with the fancy chuppah.

I am OK with a little rain as long as I can take pix outside. Pix with storm clouds look awesome!

What are you doing for centerpieces? That's the one thing I am still stuck on.

japonick- I have Bree's pictures saved. PM me with your email address and I'll send you the links. For music, we're doing an ipod reception with their sound system.

amyb- I love the simple color scheme! It'll look just perfect with your FI in white and your BM's in different vibrant colors. You're making me want to change from the colors I've picked! doh.gif

Hopefully we're going to see Alice in Wonderland at the IMAX next week!

Is anyone doing the SKY wedding? And if so, do you know how many chairs are included? The Silver and Gold package only allot for so many chairs but I would hope up to 80 would be included in the Sky package since you have to pay more for it. (80 is the deck's capacity.)

One of the many reasons I decided to do a DW was to keep the $$$ down. So now that I've plugged in everything I want (and that's without official quotes from Lamas or AS) I'm way over budget. Trying to get my costs down. So hoping I can subtract the $9 per chair over 12 chairs that I've worked into my budget.

Thanks!

I too am doing it very simple. No chair covers, no chair bows. Just the dark brown chairs with off white pads. White flowers and white fabric on the chuppah, wood aisle runner. We're all wearing black, white & dark grey with the green, light yellow and fuschia orchids in the bouts & bouquets. Centerpieces smaller stem orchids submerged in water, green, white and fuschia on each table in different sized glasses with a floating candle on the top.

I'm not a super colorful person, so picking colors was hard for me!
