April 2010 Brides

Recommended Posts

See, now that's the reason I want to do mine... yours sound so complete Erin!

And I'd started off thinking we'd give out our OOT bags ahead of time, then changed my mind and decided to take them to the resort with us and now I'm back to doing them just beforehand. Out of Calgary, we've got a group of people leaving Sunday then the rest Monday... and since I'm literally around the corner from the airport I could just meet the sunday group as they're all arriving and let them take their own OOT bags down in their own luggage, and give out everyone else's on monday when we're leaving. The only people who wouldn't get their bags right away are coming from other provinces so they'll just have to wait. It would cut down on the stuff I need to bring by a fair bit!!

meghan that is amazing that your guest count turned out that way! it must have just been meant to be that way!

and i agree, anything to cut down on what we're bringing down ourselves! we only have a few people from other places coming, so i'm shipping their bags. we got our to be beach bags and carry-on bags so we're handing ours out a bit earlier so they can prepare. i have to let some of the micro-managing go though... i just want to make sure that everyone brings most of the stuff we got them, because it will be so much better for them (ie: bubba kegs, towels, floats, etc.).

Meghan,

Wow that's a lot of gf's and wedding's. At least it'll be one heck of a summer!!

I would have done the same, made sure my wedding was the first lol.

When we invited 50 ppl we were thinking and hoping at least 10 people. so having 10 people booked and 12 confirmed, I am very happy with the number (I am glad it's no more then that.. the OOT bags are starting to cost a lot)

I am doing a brochure but I will be putting it in the OOT bags, it'll have the bar and resto info (times) has a website where I want them to upload all their wedding/vacation pics. and it has the room #'s of all the guest, as long as what events we have planned for the week)

I try to get the resort map.. but ours is to big so I will just wait until we get there and get xx amount of maps from the resort and just put it in their bags when we arrive.

Mike is actually really looking forward to going to DR and to have our wedding, when we first booked since it was so far in time, didn't mean anything to him.. but now it's 2 months and 14 days before we leave it's all he talks about lol.

I'm supper sick Mike gave me his flue!! sad.gif no more wedding planning until it goes away!!

I did figure out my mugs situation . I had laminated my labels to make them water proof.. but it laminated both sides so there was no longer a sticker side.. so I used 2 sided tape.. didn't work. So I tried book procter..didn't work. So yesterday I went and bought cemant glue. It works wonders.. just have to use it right (let the glue dry before putting it on the mug.. 1 mug and a label in the garbage from trying lol ah well lucky they are only 1.25$)

I'm a little late in the making but have just found all your chit chat - love it! I've always wanted to head to the beach to avoid all the drama associated with a wedding here at home so I'm trying to use the KISS (keep it simple stupid) method haha! Just decided to head to Jamaica in December and so far have 27 people booked so we're very happy! Hope you are all having fun planning your weddings especially as we're heading into the last couple months! Look forward to hearing how things unfold, please share the details!

Welcome luv2sun, it's always great to see another April bride. Don't be shy, just jump right in! It sounds like you've pulled your wedding together in no time at all- that's awesome. I've been trying to remember to keep it simple, too, when I find myself getting a bit carried away with ideas.

I'm having a pretty good time with planning- especially now that I'm heading into the home stretch. Favours and welcome gifts are ordered, just got a pre-wedding brochure printed up and I'm working on the layout for my programs (I'm going to attempt to DIY for those, wish me luck).

Ugh - rough week - i crashed my car on Thursday censored.gifthe car I just got in September!

it started snowing on my way to work, and as soon as I hit the break it started spinning and i ended up in the guardrail. I know i'm ok and that's the most important thing, but I hate the car now and want a truck - the rental car place gave me a nice big SUV so now I feel safer - it snowed again yesterday and it was great to drive! Of course my job ends this week so i won't really HAVE to drive in the snow anymore, but it really scared me. i've never lost control of a car before.

Are any of you doing a wedding day timeline? I saw it on one of the other bride's planning threads - she made a postcard on vistaprint that basically laid out the wedding day schedule for everyone.

this is one i started - i'm still working on it....thoughts?

Michele, Sorry to hear about your accident, but Iâ€m glad you are ok.

OMG... I have so much to catch up on with this thread. I have been so busy, but I have gotten quite a bit done for the wedding. I canâ€t believe it is less than three months away. I finally got around to posting the thread for my DIY wedding invites (http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...mplates-54823/). Here are a couple of pics.

Michele!! I'm glad to hear that you're okay and I *totally* know what you mean about not wanting to be in the same car again. Last year I got t-boned (wrote off my car) and I wanted to get another honda because I really loved them but when I was going for test drives, I was getting creeped out by how similar it felt to my old car and I kept thinking I was going to be hit again!! So I ended up with a mazda instead and now a year later I want something different. This car just isn't sticking.

On another note, I really like the intense colours of your postcards!! Do you think you'll have anything on the back of them? I have to admit that you're all far more detailed about your timing than I am. So far I have: Ceremony - 3pm, toast to follow, pictures to follow, reception around 6pm. LOL yep, that's it! Whatever else happens is good by me :)
