So FI tells me today how much of a strain it will be for his family to afford to come to the wedding. Note: DW was his idea. That said, even if we had it in the US they would be putting money down, since they would have to travel from Europe. We are scheduled to get married in March 2011, but do I offer to push it back to that fall?

What would you guys do? How would you react?

When is everyone sending out STD's/invites? I was thinking of doing passport invites about 6 months in advance with a RSVP maybe 6 weeks prior. Is that okay?

Im getting to STD's/invites out in the next couple weeks, which will be a year before the wedding date. I made message in the bottle- I'm not going to do seperate invites- the STD just refers them to our website for more info. Then we will send invites later on for the AHR.

What a bummer! We were initially planning late October 2010 because I wanted an October wedding. Also, FI's youngest sibling would still be 12 and get child rates at resorts. However, we decided to push it back to April 2011 to give everyone more time to save (especially his family, we won't even go there, they aren't very supportive of our DW decision, but if we get married in the states they would be asked to travel anyway). However, it turned out clever because we want to get married on our 8 year anniversary, April 21 2011. BE CAREFUL with fall.. make sure you plan around hurricane season! Other than that, if you can wait, I guess push it back once as we did so they have less to gripe about?
