They want to charge $15p/p set up fee for the reception?? And also now you have to pay if you want to have a rehearsal?? Don't even get me started on the no music/dancing...

 

ok..i need to count to ten, take a deep breath and see what she responds

ok you guys, I am having a serious heart attack over here! what is all of this SH*T about?!?! I'm gonna check all of this out on my lunch hour and met you know what I gather from it all. Any emails between w/c and people should all be passed around between us, so we can see if there are any discrepancies!

If this gets too out of hand I might change resorts. We will have to see!!

I'm thinking the same thing! i guess since we have all been asking these questions, they felt the need to put up a pamphlet with all the questions answered, but charging an additional $200/per hour is ridiculous. They even put something up about it's better to pack your own things and not ship them because they will not be held responsible.

Already started looking at Excellence and Paradisus as a back up.

I just emailed my travel agent (who is amazing) and asked him WTH is going on, I need your help!! I am going to start checking out other options too. I am so furious right now... I mean I picked Dreams because it was one of the more cost effective resorts to get married at as far as amenities and package pricing. Maybe I will look to some others as well. This sucks you guys sad.gif

Ok I am just jumping back on the forum and I am soooooo blown at all these changes they are trying implement, this is absolutley ridiculous, how can you just spring that on people who have already booked and reserved there wedding date. This is just crazy. I haven't even looked at everything just yet, but by reading what you all have posted I'm sure I will be just as upset. There is now way I can change our resort now because we 80 guest booked and that would be too many people to ask to change and lose there deposit. Plus all my wedding stuff has my date on it and everything urrghhhh I'm soo frustrated at DREAMS right now. and how can they say no music or dancing on the terraces, wtf are the speakers or dj for if you can't have music, if we have a DW we want it outside not in a ballroom wtf thats crazy

I highly advise that you check into this since the count for your number is so high. Especially since it looks like if you want to do the buffet style, you will end up having your reception inside the World Cafe'. I could be wrong, but that's what it looks like from my perspective.

I just read everything, so WTH is $15 setup fee per person, to set up some damnn tables mann I could have my family do that for free, so if they charge me $15 set up it will cost me $1200 dollars to set up a room for 80 people WTF I am pissed. I am soo dissapointed in the new changes I feel like they are really tring to get over on people now.

I completely agree. I feel like you can't just spring a set up fee on people when it's previously never been mentioned. The whole document is filled with things like that, the corsages are now $5 more expensive, a rehearsal is now $10 per person, the beach ceremony is now $50 more expensive....we now have to rent a sound system for the ceremony for $110...oh yes...and NO DANCING!!

 

I swear i've been sat reading this thing over all day and I'm just SO angry. I still can't get a response from anyone at the resort..surprise surprise. If my wedding date wasn't so close I'd want to switch places but i can't exactly do that now. I'm so frustrated.

That's why I think it might be beneficial to use either the Love or Ultimate package, that way that stuff is covered. They can't say that the setup fee is not included in the package deal because that is not listed in there little fine print at the bottom of their restrictions/exclusions!

 

I just need to have my co-worker call there bc I can't speak a lick of spanish bc this email crap is taking to long!

There's a set-up fee too for the ceremony and reception?? Doesn't that come with getting married at the hotel...if it's $15/person, I will do it myself! I thought getting married away somewhere would be easy.

I did email my WC last night about the table cloth charges, but haven't gotten anything back yet. I will post anything significant.
