I know, I can't wait! Does anyone know anything about the DJ at the Majestic? I have read great things about DJ Mannia and am thinking about booking them, but Sandra told me there may be an extra charge because it is an outside vendor using the resort facilities. I just want to make sure I have a really good DJ, but I haven't heard anything about the DJ at the Majestic. Any help would be much appreciated!

Ladies don't forget to check out the group Majestic Colonial Brides on Facebook. It's an active group with LOTS of feedback. I've worked with Phil Steingard and had his nephew Michael do my photo's last week. Phil will always answer your questions even if you don't hire him.

I recommend contacting him! I did not go to any markets outside the resort and just plan on checking extra luggage.

Thank you! Do you know how much each bride pays for his travel costs on average?? I couldn't find any specifics on his website but will keep looking. I have tried reaching out to him but haven't heard back yet. I hope he is not booked already. His work looks amazing!!!

Any additional information you have on his prices/work please let me know!

Thanks!!

Hi Everybody,

So we have 70 people coming so far and are getting married at the colonial side. MY WC is Sandra....just wondering if you guys thing I will be able to get a better rate for the reception on the beach.....has anybody been able to do this? I know that there is extra set up involved for preparing a wedding reception but we are also paying all inclusive. any suggestions as to how I can go about this? Not sure how good I am at negotiating....lol

Hey Jessica,

I was just thinking the same thing last night. It looks like we'll end up with close to 50 guests ourselves and I would really like to have the BBQ buffet dinner but it would need to be at a reduced price... the other option is to have the dinner at the steakhouse restaurant and then rent out the parrot bar for dancing and cake cutting to save some cash, but I don't know how I feel about moving people from one spot to the next....

I guess there's no harm in asking right? When's your wedding?

Also, our reception plan is a disaster! We tried to book for a beach reception as this is what we have planned all along. I have read every page of this thread, but if what I learned today was somewhere within this thread, I certainly didn't see it.... Today Maritee informed me that you cannot book any of the private reception options unless you have 20 people or more at your wedding. So since we are only a group of 11, it looks like we're stuck with the free dinner option. Not the end of the world, but since I have had it in my head that we would do a beach reception even before we booked the resort last year, I am totally upset! I know we're a small group, but I still want a special evening! I have purchased all sorts of stuff and had planned out music for dinner, etc, and now that was all wasted time!
That really is a bummer. Here's a thought though. I have read you can get the section of the steakhouse or seafood that is portioned off and faces the beach, for a small fee. Probably a lot less than a private reception. then couldn't you do a "cocktail party" for your party portion? I know I saw they offer that somewhere too. I'm not sure where, but it wold be worth checking into.

Also, I know they do a beach party for the entire resort every week, with the exact same set up as the wedding reception. (decorations food, and they have entertainment too) Our wedding happens to fall the day after this beach party, so I ended up switching our reception to Wet Bar, with the night before being at the beach, our reception might seem a bit anticlimactic if it was on the beach as well. At least the Wet Bar will be something new for our guests. Plus, you could reserve tables together at the resorts beach party, still a beach party with your guests. That is our new plan. FYI, the beach reception option is why I chose this resort in the first place, so I get it. hope it works out for you.
