Bridesmaids were a nightmare!!!

Just terrible.....so sorry that you are going through this. Unless they are very young or very immature...something else must be going on here. Who acts like this unprompted? Very odd...be done with them and don't look back.

What the heck is wrong with those girls? I say good riddance to them. You don't need them in your wedding and if they act like that now can you imagine how they would be acting on your day? Honestly, I would be glad you had it out now rather then at your DW.

I know you must be devastated right now but you may have really dodged a bullet on this one. They should be ashamed of themselves for acting so rude! It's their loss, not yours.

I'm so sorry to hear about this!! There must be something seriously wrong with them to act that way and in your own house!! You don't need people like that around you.

I can relate to the whole wedding party thing. I have my moh and 1 bm. FI's best man has backed out due to some personal issues that came up and his other gm hasn't even told us if he is going or not. So at the moment, FI has no one

My good friend didn't have any attendants. It was just the 2 of them and their dog. It seemed a little strange when she told me, but it was really beautiful. It was a really small wedding, so I think it helped to give it a more intimate feel. We threw around the idea of doing the same, but ultimately decided to have 3 on each side. I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to not have any. For those that have agreed, they can still help with the prewedding stuff and you can still have people do readings or speaches.

WTF!!! How rude and inconsiderate of them!... So sorry to hear that and the fact that your upset... Honestly if this is their attitude they dont deserve to be a part of your bridal party at all.

Thanks everyone. It is so nice to FINALLY hear someone agree with me that they were behaving wrong! I guess they decided they would rather be friends with one another than me, and really I could care less now.

And for those who asked if they have tried getting in contact with me, no. They just have their friend spread lies to everyone else about me causing them to avoid me. Because I'm sure you would believe 3 girls who have identical stories (one who wasn't even there) instead of one person with their story.

Oh well, better now than at the wedding I say!

So what's the rest of the story? Did they not want to be in your wedding or were you obligated to ask them for family reasons?

I agree what they did is ridiculous but what caused it all-you don't just show up and behave like that without a reason. It might be a childish one but still they had to have some reason for it.

OMG people are nuts! I'm so sorry to hear that this happend to you! We aren't having attendants at our wedding. We are having people that "would have been" attendants do things like carry down the rings and what not but you can have any special guest do that for you. I hope everything works out for you!

I believe that everything happens for a reason, and if it were me I would be glad to not have people like that at my wedding, let alone be my bridesmaids (who are supposed to be there for you no matter what!!) I think you are lucky, and should do whatever the heck you want for the bridal party...destination weddings are so unique that we don't have to follow any of the 'traditional etiquette rules'. Yea, sounds like you are better off without them in your party and I agree, better now than at your wedding. But seriously, like others have said, people don't just do things like that for no reason unless they require medication...I wonder what would have made them act like that towards you?
