Villa for large wedding

Hey everyone,

I am planning a wedding for Feb 2013 in Costa Rica. I have looked into the resort thing but it's not really the feel I like. So we've started looking to villas to rent. The problem is all the mansion that are AMAZING can only house max 30 people. I wish we could get our list down that low!! But we are planning on 40-60 people coming.

Has anyone went this route or plan on doing it? I want it easy to get to from the international airports as well. There are lots of options in Manuel Antonio but I am afraid it is too far away... would I rent a big bus to take everyone?

These are some options I've been looking at:

All of those are right beside each other.

And then...

Tanager, Manakin and Jacana. Either the motmot or tuscan house. They are all right beside each other as well.

And other options I don't know about or something closer to an airport you can suggest?

Thanks!

Hello

We are renting a villa from them, Casa de las Brisas, it's nine bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of 22 I believe. All of their villas, from what I understand, are within walking distance of each other so I am sure you could rent a couple of them to accommodate such a large group. We have six people staying in a separate one because they did not want the all inclusive option.

We are getting married this November and cannot wait!!!

If you book the all inclusive it includes free transportation to and from the airport which is a two-hour drive.

Hope that helps

Hi Amanda,

I am also planning a wedding in that area for August 2012.  I am really interested in renting a house over hotels.  Is the rate you mentioned per person for a week?  I looked at the link, but just to clarify, all inclusive includes the chef services and food?

Thanks!

Hi Girls :)

I'm also getting set for a November2011 wedding in CR and we've booked Casa Vista Azul AND Casa Dolce Vita which are right beside each other (literally a 30 second jaunt from what I've been promised). We'll have 23 people total.

Heather, I found the all inclusive rates to be very reasonable through this company. You get a chef to prepare 2 meals a day, all local food is included (just no shrimp or lobster), all local beer, wine, and rum, PLUS enough vehicle rental for your entire group to get where ever they need to go. This works out to $65USD per person per day.

You can also opt out of the vehicle rentals and just get transportation to and from the San Jose airport and that knocks the price down to $50 per person per day.

If you look through the villascostarica.com site, they have hundreds of properties and they list all of their prices per season so it's fairly straightforward to price out everything.

The booking manager, Fernando Ray, is very friendly and prompt to reply. He put up with me for about half an hour on the phone even with me asking silly questions about CR. lol.  He can be reached at: info@villascostarica.com

Anyways, idk if that helps but we're super excited to go! :D :D :D

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
