Breezes Runaway Bay Info

Thanks for all the info. I guess I have a couple basic questions (since I haven't heard back from the wedding coordinator). Do you know if they will allow us to write our own ceremony script? What if it's half an hour? I thought I read somewhere that the new beach chapel has a webcam but I can't find that info anywhere now. Does that sound right? If I reserved the beach can I change locations once I get there? If I made a wedding reservation online but we won't need it to be legal, do I need to notify them and change it to a renewal (we don't want our families knowing we did it earlier)? Do they offer group dinner in one of the restaurants? Will they charge us again for off property guests for dinner? So, I realize we already booked the place and BEFORE would have been the time to ask these questions. I'm mostly curious - isn't going to ruin the wedding if things don't work out differently. Even just one of these questions answered would be great. Thanks!

We got married about 2 weeks ago at Breezes Trelawny and the wedding coordinator there was amazing. She was very responsive to all our questions. The resort is a bit older but the grounds are beautiful and perfect for pictures. The food was great and the staff was friendly and helpful.

The cost of the reception hall rental was $200 and seats over 200 people. The menu prices were also reasonable (under $50/per person). This is only if you have a large group.

For a small gathering, you can eat at one of the restaurants:  Italian or Japanese and I believe the cost is included in your package.

The hotel also has a vendor that decorates but I felt they were overpriced so I brought in my own decorator: Godfrey Guy (876-341-0706) and he is based in Ocho Rios.

Christie Coley is the wedding coordinator at Breezes Trelawny and her email addy is christie.coley@superclubs.com

Good luck!

Lisa

Hi Watsie,

Sounds like your wedding at Breezes Trelawny went really well! Congrats on your marriage! I am getting married there on Janury 15th, 2011. We plan to have a big group and have the reception room reserved for that night. What was the set-up like? Is the room decorated at all? How many per table? Is there a table for the wedding party? Did you use their DJ? Any advice you could give me would be great! Thanks!

I am updating the BRB info thread with some of this info so future brides can find it more easily.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was going to strangle our TA - she just referred me to a honeymoon registry so hopefully we'd get enough money from guests to pay for the private reception. Is this still a sit down dinner or is it at the buffet? Thanks.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
