Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!! I have a few questions if you dont mind helping me out!

1. How long did you all have you wedding reception for and did you move to the pool bar after?? Was there music and dancing here? I am thinking 4 hours for the dinner reception is that enough time?

2. It says on the paperwork no outside photographers... is this true you cannot hire an outside photographer??? Did anyone use the photographer from the resort? if so were they good do you have some pictures you could send me?

Thank you for you help!!!

Welcome to the forum Canada445 you will love it here.

I have not yet had my wedding, however I have heard that lots of brides do the pool bar after which is what we will be doing. I did not get enough guest to be able to have one of the big receptions so we will be doing an a la carte then going to the pool bar.

As for off site wedding photographers, I got around this by bringing my photographer from Edmonton. Since she will be a paying guest they have no problems with her taking our wedding pictures.

Let me know if you have any more questions. Happy planning  :)

good luck at the wedding! if you are using the resort salon & makeup please share your experience afterwards or pictures! thank you!

So I just contacted the other coordinators now, since my coordinator was Daniel. I am hoping I don't have a problem hearing back from them because I amtrying to upgrade my package from romantic to paradise, since we had more ppl book than expected. Should be okie to upgrade since we had already reserved the terrace for the reception, at least im hoping its okie!

@@JustynaB

were these side by side terrace receptions small wedding groups?? I cant imagine having a wedding side by side, we have almost 50ppl coming, so I hope we get a private reception as stated in the package details.

So I have emailed the resort 4 times, the first time being just over a month and I haven't heard anything from them! I have 2 email address that I have been emailing. weddings.oct@oceanhotels.net and weddings.mex@oceanhotels.net. Is anyone else using a different email other then theses 2?

I want to book my reception space before the one I want is booked.

Thanks so much!

Hello everyone!

My wedding is in less than 3 weeks away! Kind of getting nervous...But I'm sure everything will turn out just fine!

Did anyone book with the resort photographer? I was just going to use our 2 family members who are professional photographers, but I would like to possibly book for the ceremony so my family members can enjoy :)

If anyone has any photos they could possibly private message me so I can take a look, it would be very appreciated!!

Also if anyone else has any little tips they would like to give me, I would love it!

Thanks a lot

So exciting @@MHyde! I can't believe its almost December already! Hope you have an amazing time. Let us know how it all goes.

Funny I thought this thread was pretty quiet, but then found for some reason that all the notifications were going to my junk mail. Weird?  I finally heard from Areli. Poor things are probably just being stretched really thin with Daniel leaving and all us brides freaking out. We are at about 10 weeks out from our wedding, so I am going to try to enjoy Christmas and then worry about all the details in the New Year.

I got our flowers the other weekend, the most beautiful artificial calla lilies I've ever seen. I wasn't thrilled with the flower selection you get with the Wish package, so for $30.00 I managed to get mine and three bridesmaids bouquets. Gotta love Hobby Lobby sales!

Other than flowers and chair sashes, I'm not bringing any other décor down.   We are just booking an area of one of the a la cartes for dinner and hoping to find a little private lounge area afterwards for drinks. We are 12 in total, so I'm hoping this should not be too much of a problem.

Can't think of any other updates for now. I hope everyone is enjoying their planning, and is getting as excited as we are!

I have just received an email from a new coordinator using daniels old account on Monday. I hve emailed her again since Ariel has been updating some of our stuff. I hope that they work well together and nothing gets lost between the two of them. Hopefully she responds soon

Can you imagine how tough it must be on these WC with all the turn over, and having to pick up where people are leaving off? And then dealing with all us in the meantime? Don't worry @@Kayla88, I'm sure it will be fine. Ive lost track of who is responding from which email anymore!

Hi, I also received word about areli, just sent an email to all 3 email addresses I have for the resort asking who I should direct my final guestlist and checklist to...hopefully no more turnovers until I get married, Jan 9th.....its gets a little stressfull, hoping ppl remember your requests, but I plan on bringing all my emails that have been confirmed for all our choices, so I have a back up.

fingers crossed, nothing gets lost, and the next coordinator is as good as Daniel & areli.

Hi everyone, has anyone used the salon at the resort for their bridal party?? is the wedding hairstyle cost for bridesmaids $110USD? or is that just for a bride....that seems a little high for just bridesmaid styles.

and the makeup seems pretty pricey too. $85USD?? usually makeup here is 50-60$ for bridesmaids.

hope they do a good job for that price.

Also if anyone has a spa pricelist for 2015 please share! I only have the 2014 one.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
