Sig Size limit?

Okay, I mentioned this in the contest thread, and I may be alone here, but here's my deal:

I really love seeing all of the sigs. I think that they add a lot of value to the forum and they help everyone to identify one-another. That said, some of the sigs on here take up like half of my screen and cause a lot of extra scrolling.

I think it would be nice to have some sort of limit to sig size on the forum. I'm not sure how to define it. I use photobucket to host my photos on here, and I try not to use anything larger than their website/email sized setting (320x240) in a sig, but I wouldn't be opposed to doing even a thumbnail sized (160x120) which is what I currently have mine sized down to because it's portrait, not landscape.

I don't know. Ya'll may totally shoot me down here, I am just throwing it out there.

I appreciate your tact Tasha- you could call ME out on it! lol

In defense (support, whatever) of those with the ginormous signature "stuff" I do have to say that it is part of the fun of the forum for me. I do enjoy seeing people's miscellaneous pictures and tickers and stuff. I would be sad if those went away. I know not everyone agrees with me, and everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion.

I do agree that the individual pic or collage should be perhaps a little smaller at times, but I don't want to deter people from posting links and ticker in their sigs- I personally enjoy seeing all that.

No, I fully agree with you. I enjoy seeing it too. As I mentioned, it adds a lot of value to the forum and helps with member recognition for me personally.

I just think it would be great if maybe members were limited to a ticker, a link, and one pic that is 000x000 pixels. KWIM?

and FWIW, I don't think your sig is out of control at all :)

ETA - not to mention, it's gotta be hard on Tammy's server to have all of that stuff on there, right? I am kind of lame with computers but I reckon it must slow things down some.

Ditto Sarah, I love all the pics. If you are worried about being caught at work Tasha, then don't sign on at work, jmho. The problem is what happens if the size rule is not adhered to? Does a member get kicked off the forum? Just interested on how this rule is suppose to be policed?

I personally LOVE the siggy Sarah made for me and I would hate to be told I have to change it because it is too big, there would be no joy in that!

Yeah hehe. That's why I am glad I am not a mod wink.gif

Thanks for the recommendation to turn of sigs. To be honest, I work for myself, but I hate to have the people in my office see my slacking off. It's not like I am going to get fired for screwing around or anything. Just trying to set a good example (even though I am clearly not rolleyes.gif)

overall though, it just would be nice to not have to scroll so much :)

again, everyone may disagree. just voicing my opinion. Bigger isn't ALWAYS better cheesy.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
