Question for Newbies

I was SOO scared to make my first post! First off, I wasn't engaged! I thought everyone would make fun of me and make me feel like a fool. BOY, was I wrong! Everyone was so welcoming and I really did appreciate it. I also was afraid to post because I was afraid people would find my information. And, although this is still possible, I am very careful with what I post.

I was intimidated at first b/c I felt like everyone knew everyone else and had already formed bonds that I might not make. And, at first, when I posted a few questions, I did get some responses that said things to the effect of "please do a search before posting these questions b/c the answers are already on here." I know they weren't meant to be mean, instead were meant as a suggestion ... but didn't make me feel welcome necessarily -- at first.

Maybe we need to offer these pointers when we welcome them in the Newbie thread?
