For those of you who still have the password to the DIY page of our website still, I just uploaded an excel document that will budget/track/calculate all the purchases for wedding for anyone to download who wants it.
For example: the main sheet of the document is a categorized overview (like under attire it will show expenses for the bride and groom). But if you click on the "Attire" sheet of the document, you can enter the description of the item (and location where you purchased it), the quantity and unit price. It will then keep track of all your attire expenses and categorize them on the main overview sheet. | Sounds very similar to the workbook I put together for myself!! We are anal accounting freaks!

I know! I just can't make sense of the money/budget until I see the actual numbers side by side.
I'm such a finance/accounting freak that I did something similar to this to help see and select a resort. It got too overwhelming trying to guage one package for x dollars to another package for x dollars...
Now I know I'm a computer geek---- I actually look for new reasons to make spreadsheets with formulas/names/cell references....

It is possible to keep your wedding under 10 grand. You just have to not go overboard with options. My sisters BF got married in Curacao and was there for 2 weeks and they spent just under 8 grand. They also had 30 guests. It really all comes down to how elaborate you want it.

I will post my budget soon, once I sit down and figure everything out...At least I know my parents are chipping in, and Erik's parents are chipping in, and Erik and I are chipping in.

I was thinking $8K tops but most of your budgets blow this out of the water
Looks like I got some figuring out to do
One Question though, do you couples have the cash for this stuff? Or is this going mostly on credit? My FI and I have some debt, but certainly don't have any savings to speak of that we can pay for this thing cash. It's stressing me a bit | you're not alone with the $8k budget tops... we're trying to stay around $6,000ish.
my budget so far (assuming 40 guests, which may end up being way too high!):
Royal Wedding Package: $995.00
Boutonnieres (2): $12.00
Bouquets (2): $60.00
Steel Band 1 hr: $250.00
DJ 2 hrs: $300.00
Open Bar: $400.00
Hall/Disco Rental 2 hrs: $250.00
Room - 6 nights (approx): $1,776.00
Flight (approx): $800.00
STD's: $16.40
Invitations: $150.00
Dress: $250.00
Veil: $40.00
Photographer: ?
TOTAL $5,299.40
(as of now we're paying for it all. If parents can kick in for anything, we'll probably upgrade some things)

I agree with Heidi. It's deffinitely doable on a budge. I think my BF got away with something like $4K including her dress, photo, video, their trip, EVERYTHING. There were only 13 of us so no DJ, nothing but dinner after ceremony. She figured it's enough. They also did not have anything back home (well a little something that his mom paid for:)
We are actually paying for everything (possibly including his dad's and part of my parent's trip). I'm really really really saving!!!!!!!!
