I have a concern! My sister in law has cystic fibrosis and she’s now 32. She just order her passport because she really wants to attend our wedding. Her husband is please because he really wants to travel… My concern is that she will need oxygen in the airplane for the whole ride and I’m not sure it’s a service the airplane company provide. If she doesn’t have oxygen, her lung can stick together and she can die!!!!!!! It’s a little bit stressfull…
My other concern is what to do if anything happens to her during the trip before the wedding? Should we go ahead with the wedding or what!? I need advice here!

Hi. Its always good to have an emergency plan, I would talk with them and come up with one just in case she becomes ill and then broach the subject of continuing with the wedding plans and see how they feel. Don't know if its an option where you are, but have you thought about maybe them taking a cruise down there instead of flying?

Fannie,
First of all you should check with the airlines and see if its possible. You would be surprised what kinds of arrangements they can make.
Secondly, if her traveling to your wedding is this important to you than maybe you should consider a location that can be driven to or a cruise like Erica mentioned.
It is so sweet of you to worry about her and you might want to talk to her and find out what her dr. says about traveling.

| Her doctor tell her she should go but just make sure the airlines provide oxygen. I will have to wait until we know for sure which airline we will take in order to know if they provide those services.

I know airlines do provide oxygen. You'll just need to contact them to arrange it.

If you call the airline company I am sure that will alleviate your fears about your sister-in-law's oxygen traveling needs. For an emergency plan, you may want to look into buying a traveler's health insurance policy. Some of them cover emergency medical transportation back to an appropriate health facility (a medjet back to the states for example). At the very least, it'll provide peace of mind in case something were to happen while in Mexico.
