Lazy Gourmet Catering

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has ever used or heard about Lazy Gourmet Catering for a reception? I am considering them for one of my choices but I have had the hardest time getting answers to questions. After days of emails they finally gave me menu pricing which was very reasonable but I am not sure if with rentals and food it will save any money in comparison to hotels? Any info would be great!

Thanks!

Darci

Hey Darci, I think I remember hearing good things about them but I just don't remember details. I don't recall ever reading a negative review, though. I think you are probably right that with all costs included, they may not be a lot cheaper. One of the benefits to having a caterer is being able to buy the alcohol yourself and just hire a bartender to serve it. Make sure you consider alcohol in your figures, because that is where a hotel can really gouge you on the prices!

Hi Darci. .

My fiance and I recently hired the Lazy Gourmet for our wedding about a week before yours in Cabo next year. Everything I've read about them has been fantastic.. and I do know after calling around a couple of the wedding coordinators in town also work exclusively with them. I personally haven't tried any of their food yet.. but it looks amazing. We picked them up for the same reason on the alcohol, but have noticed their alcohol prices are pretty reasonable and we may end up letting them purchase it as well.. to avoid the hassle. Haven't made a firm decision on that one yet. But the nice thing is they do wedding coordination as well.. so we're not hiring a separate coordinator and a caterer.

Hi Darci -

Lazy Gormet is wonderful! - I have been at many functions that Tracy has catered and all of her food is delicious with great presentation. She makes very unussual dishes as well.

I have said before on the forum that Tracy also donates alot of her services to us at the Humane Society here - so we LOVE her! - She has a really good heart and, as we say here in Mex, Tiene Buen Sazón (she's a great cook).

Ask Brad Pitt - he used her the whole time he was out here filming Troy a few years ago!

Happy Planning, Marci

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
