We are going on a site visit at the end of this month, so I am taking the pictures as well as the round placemat and ribbon for color samples. I am going to see what they have or what I could purchase at Costco when I'm there. The round placemats and sea glass are no big deal to pack, and the flowers and limes will be in Mexico, so the glass vases are the only thing I would rather not take.
I'm also using these at my AHR, so I will have to get the supplies at some point.

So far my idea for centerpiece for DW is to use these 8" strafrish in the center of the table with possibly fishnetting under and some votives around. Simple but elegant. I think that flowers will overwhelm it? What do you think?
my other thought was to have the 2" starfish as placedard holders aka favors, placing the placecards on the top of the starfish so that it rests there- the placecards I am thinking of making luggage tags. Too much? |

I just got an e-mail from my WC at DReams. She gave me some ideas (which sound beautiful) and they seem fairly priced. Each one is only going to be $30. So I am having like 5 tables. I think $150 for everything is good, and I don't have to carry anything, or ship anything before hand which can be expensive.
Why are so many doing it on their own? | I completely agree - I already have enough to do and bring with me, the last I need to lug around are centrepieces.
We are going with the MP offering _ they have many beautiful selections to choose from and are very flexible in creating what you invision.

Why are so many doing it on their own? | I WISH centerpieces were only $30 each at our resort! :-)
I know I'm looking into bringing my own b/c centerpieces at our resort START at about $70 and those are the bare minimum. Anything more than the minimum is closer to $100 each. I'd rather stuff a suitcase with stuff:-) Plus, it gives us a chnace to personalize it more...
BUT, if they were only $30 each, I too would just go with what the resort is offering...

They offered me these teeny weenie little things to place in the middle. Nothing I liked. So I decided to just make my own and ship them to Claudia 2 months in advance.

Have you already shipped them...? (sorry I can't remember what your wedding date is...)...If so, was it expensive...? What about getting them through Mexico customs...is that a problem, IF you know...? :-)
I'm thinking of doing this too...I was just wondering, if they're heavy, it might end up costing more than just getting the resort to do them
EDIT -- just saw you're not getting married til May '09 :-)
But maybe someone else has shipped stuff and knows if it's super expensive or not...?

Wow, I almost don't want to post mine because they pale in comparison to some of these! |

$60 is nothing! I would have totally done that...but I need them there by Dec. 7th, so I guess I'm stuck forcing my friends to pack some heavy items:-)
I went and bought the stuff yesterday...and will now have to hunt for some small boxes and packing material so they don't break in transit:-)
