Amy I totally wanted a cushion cut, sometimes I think I want to upgrade before the wedding, but my FI would probably be annoyed...he says he knows eventually I will want to upgrade, but everytime I see the ring I orginally wanted I get sad....

Actually I thought a cushion cut is similar to a princess cut but has less facets and the edges are slightly rounded, where as the asher cut is smilar to the emerald cut but with more facets.. (the more facets the more it shines)

that is why I liked the cushion because it was unique and in between what we both wanted, I wanted round he wantes princess.

I still really love the asscher cut but we couldnt really find two side stones (other than two small asscher's) that went well with the diamond. And although the cut is beautiful, it doesnt sparkle as much as the cushion.

I wanted something like this with a cushion, sometimes I think I should just have it made and suck up the extra cost.

Plus with an Asher and emerald cut, they have to be cleaned all the time. I'm not kidding, I clean my emerald cut every day to keep a good sparkle. I actually always wanted a princess cut, but Cain's aunt got one and everyone I know that recently got engaged has one, so I had to be different.. lol..

"Christine" (look I got it right this time :-) I think that ring is very pretty, but they are getting more and more popular, and IMO I never wanted a ring that someone could say "oh you got your ring in "X" year.

Tammy, that's exactly why i picked the cushion. I wanted something different. But No one can tell its really a cusion because its more rectangular than square and you cant see the rounded edges because of the prongs. It looks more like a radiant cut.

I know its funny, when we first started looking they weren't popular but now I see them everywhere and that's what makes me sad, but I couldn't find any of them in the price range or one that would work with a wedding band.
