Reception Food For Dreams Los Cabos

Recommended Posts

Hi Girls! For those of you who are getting married at Dreams Los Cabos in 2008, Have you talked with your cordinator about food yet? I am looking into having steak & lobster but not sure on how much they are charging per person. If you are having steak & lobster for your reception, how much are they charging you per person...... I am hoping not to pay a grip of money for food.

Thanks,

Brandy

2007 price for S&T was $22 per person on top of the $22 setup fee. IMHO - not worth it. I know a lot of people do it and love it, but at the tasting we did at the beginning of this month it was not great. Meat was tough and the lobster was chewy. I totally thought we would do the surf and turf going in, but we ended up w chicken and sea bass. And it wasn't the price difference that had any effect on us - I wouldn't have done S&T if it was the same price as all the other options.

Kate- How was the taste of chicken & sea bass? How much did they charge you extra per person?

Everything we tasted was pretty good, except we aren't huge saffron fans and I believe the chicken dish was made with saffron.. Our guests will have a choice between the Sea Bass or Beef Tenderloin. They will do a double plate (two smaller choices) if you wish.

They don't charge you extra for that. It's just the normal $22 setup fee.

Hi Ladies! Merry Christmas! Quick question again about food..

Has anyone had their buffet for reception food? If so, how was the food? I am looking into having either the Carribean or the BBQ theme buffet. Mariana said i can mix and match the food. It gives variety of foods so that people can pick and choose what they want. I would love to hear your feed back.

Thanks,

Brandy

I wanted to bring this thread back to life.

We're not doing a site visit, so I'm hoping other Dreams brides will chime in with their menu choices.

I'm thinking the ravioli and beef wellington so far.

I wonder why the surf and turf has gotten such mixed reviews.

I believe the Ravioli is considered one of the courses but not the main course. It was yummy but unfortunately cold by the time we were ate it. The Bride and Groom food was also cold because they gave it to us just before our MOH and BM gave their speeches... oh well. I wasn't really that concerned about eating that night. (The SeaBass was still good though!)

We didn't go for the Surf & Turf because of the additional charge and we weren't able to taste it during our tasting (we would of been charged for it.)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
